A few weeks ago Buckeye Offensive Coordinator Tom Herman was in Texas meeting with then Oregon commitment Dontre Wilson (DeSoto, Texas/DeSoto). Then it was Urban Meyer who stopped at DeSoto High School.

Wilson followed with an official visit to Ohio State the weekend of Jan. 25. Wilson, who had continued to be an Oregon commitment, made an official visit to Texas this past weekend as Mack Brown and the Longhorns made a late push for the speedy Texan.
However, it is Meyer and the Buckeyes that have won out. Wilson has switched his commitment from the Ducks to the Bucks and will sign with Ohio State on Wednesday. He announced the commitment Monday night on a local telecast in Texas.
"A long hard decision," Wilson said. "I thought about it a lot. But I'll go to the University of Ohio State. I just feel that coach Meyer has something going good there right now."
Wilson is the third 4-star 2013 prospect from Texas to commit to Ohio State joining quarterback JT Barrett (Wichita Falls, Texas/Rider) and linebacker Mike Mitchell (Plano, Texas/Prestonwood Christian Academy).
Wilson has been recruited by the Buckeyes to play a combination slot receiver and running back position.
The 5-foot-10 and 175-pound Wilson rushed for 1,895 yards and 37 touchdowns during his senior season. He also had 760 receiving yards and nine touchdowns through the air. Wilson had 49 total touchdowns.
Wilson is commitment No. 24 in Meyer's 2013 recruiting class, and class that is ranked No. 2 in the country in the 247Sports team rankings.
Wilson is the country’s No. 113 overall prospect, the No. 7 all-purpose back and the No. 13 prospect in Texas in the 247Sports rankings.
