Buckeye Recruiting Week In Review

The week started on Friday as I posted a thread on the games last weekend involving the Buckeyes’ verbal commitments. Among the top performers were running back Ezekiel Elliott and safety Jayme Thompson who led their teams to victories.

Elliott had another big game last week.

On Sunday my feature last week was the latest edition of my 2014 Ohio Top 10. There are a couple new additions in this edition, but the prospect at the top remains the same and is a big Buckeye target.

On Monday morning I posted the latest edition of What I Am Hearing. In this edition I had information on a sign there will be two Bosa’s at Ohio State, “flipping” a linebacker to Ohio State being a big priority, Kerry Coombs getting kudos on the recruiting trail and more.

Last weekend tight end/defensive end Garrett Dickerson visited Ohio State and Michigan. The 4-star prospect attended the Michigan-Northwestern game and then visited Ohio State on Sunday. Dickerson, who the Buckeyes have offered, came away very impressed with his OSU visit.

The Buckeyes have offered a scholarship to a super sophomore, running back Jordan Scarlett from Florida. Scarlett, who already has at least 16 offers, says he will look at Ohio State.

Former USC safety commitment Max Redfield says he has added Ohio State to his list of potential colleges.

2014 linebacker Dillon Bates, the son of former Dallas Cowboy Bill Bates, made the trip from Florida to Ohio State when the Buckeyes played Illinois. Dillon Bates sat down with Meyer during the visit and was offered a scholarship.

4-star linebacker and Florida commitment Daniel McMillian says he is still planning to make an official visit to Ohio State the weekend of the Michigan game and McMillian says he is open to a “flip” to Ohio State.

And speaking of linebackers, JUCO linebacker Auston Johnson spoke to Luke Fickell this past week and afterwards Johnson said his official visit to Ohio State for the Michigan game is still on.

It was another very busy week for Buckeye recruiting and another very busy week here at We continue our wall-to-wall Buckeye recruiting coverage tomorrow with my Sunday feature. This week I have the second edition of my Ohio Class of 2014 Top 10.
