Buckeye Recruiting Week In Review

The week started on Friday as I posted a thread on the games last weekend involving the Buckeyes’ verbal commitments. Among the top performers were running back Ezekiel Elliott and safety Jayme Thompson who led their teams to victories again this past weekend.

Elliott had another big performance in leading his team to victory again last weekend.

On Sunday my feature last week was my Ohio State Risers and Fallers. There were four prospects rising, four falling and many whose stock is staying the same.

On Monday morning I posted the latest edition of What I Am Hearing. In this edition I had information on a former Florida State commitment anxious to make an official visit to Ohio State, additions and subtractions to the list of prospects visiting Ohio State this weekend, the latest on a top 2014 quarterback the Buckeyes have been recruiting and more.

The start of Michigan week meant the start of a huge recruiting week for the Buckeyes. So I had a feature every day this week here at Bucknuts looking at a different group of prospects visiting Ohio State this weekend. On Monday we led off with the prospects that have already committed to Ohio State that will be in the Horseshoe on Saturday. Several will be on official visits with others on unofficial visits. All told easily over half of Urban Meyer’s 17 commitments will be at The Game.

On Tuesday I featured the 2013 uncommitted prospects that will attend the Ohio State-Michigan game. Among the group will be a number of players on official visits including wide receiver James Quick and a couple top linebackers such as Trey Johnson.

Also on Tuesday Bucknuts.com in conjunction with ScoutingOhio.com broke the news that Urban Meyer had offered 2014 linebacker Kyle Berger and Berger said he would attend the Ohio State-Michigan game on Saturday.

On Wednesday I featured the 2014 prospects visiting Ohio State on Saturday, and it is a spectacular group that includes a number of 5-star prospects. Included in that group are defensive end Da’Shawn Hand and linebacker Raekwon McMillan.

On Thursday I looked at how this huge recruiting weekend might play out for the Ohio State staff – who might commit this weekend and who might commit a bit down the road.

On Friday I looked at the direct Ohio State-Michigan recruiting battles – that is the prospects that will be sitting in Ohio Stadium today that have been offered a scholarship by both the Buckeyes and Wolverines. I also looked at prospects that won’t make it to The Game today, but have offers from both schools.

It was another very busy week for Buckeye recruiting and another very busy week here at Bucknuts.com. We continue our complete Buckeye recruiting coverage tomorrow with wall-to-wall coverage of the prospects visiting Ohio State this weekend on official visits or unofficial visits to The Game.
