The week started on Friday as I posted a thread on the games last weekend involving the Buckeyes’ verbal commitments. Among the top performers were Timothy Gardner who helped his team win a state championship and finish with a perfect 15-0 season.
Raekwon McMillan was one of the many super 2014 prospects that attended the Ohio State-Michigan game and watched the Buckeyes complete a perfect 12-0 season.
Very soon after the last play in the Buckeyes’ 26-21 victory over Michigan, Bucknuts had a Front Row Message Board thread on the many super prospects attending the game and their reactions to the Bucks’ win and a perfect 12-0 season. Among the many recruits featured were Raekwon McMillan, Jalen Hurd, Da’Shawn Hand, Jimmy Byrne, Clifton Garrett, Corey Smith, Christopher Worley, Jamarco Jones, Josh Malone, Shelton Gibson, Kyle Berger, Drew Barker, Mikale Wilbon, Lawrence Marshall, Kyle Trout, Will Ulmer, Sam Mustipher and Ryan Timmons.
On Sunday Bucknuts was the only site to have feature stories on two linebackers that made official visits to Ohio State last weekend, Daniel McMillian and Martrell Straight.
Also on Sunday Bucknuts did feature stories on a number of prospects that attended the Ohio State-Michigan game including Raekwon McMillan, Jalen Hurd, Jimmy Byrne and Kyle Berger.
On Monday morning I posted the latest edition of What I Am Hearing. In this edition I had information on a Urban Meyer and Will Muschamp going head-to-head for a couple top linebackers, Meyer’s unique pitch to a 5-star prospect, Shelton Gibson leading the recruit charge and more.
Also on Monday, Bucknuts had feature stories on a 2014 offensive lineman the Buckeyes offered who was ready to announce his college choice, Demetrius Knox, as well as a feature on 5-star 2013 safety target Vonn Bell and 4-star wide receiver target James Quick who had just returned from an official visit to Ohio State.
And finally on Monday, Bucknuts had a front page story on 2014 Buckeye quarterback target DeShaun Watson who is the object of a huge recruiting battle between the Bucks and Clemson.
We started Tuesday morning with a feature tracking the travels of the Ohio State coaches as they hit the recruiting road.
Also on Tuesday Bucknuts had a feature story on linebacker Mike Mitchell. Luke Fickell and Tom Herman visited with Mitchell on Monday night and Mitchell scheduled an official visit to Ohio State.
Bucknuts had two more big recruiting stories on prospects who had de-committed, Gareon Conley from Michigan and Tony Stevens from Florida State. Both will make official visits to Ohio State.
On Tuesday night Luke Fickell and Tim Hinton made an in-home visit with Florida linebacker commitment James Hearns and an official visit to Ohio State was scheduled.
2014 wide receiver Josh Malone, who has scholarship offers from both Ohio State and Michigan, was a guest of the Buckeyes at The Game last weekend. Malone is definitely considering both schools.
One of the top defensive backs in the Midwest, Parrker Westphal from Illinois, attended the Ohio State-Michigan game having already received scholarship offers from both schools.
There were plenty of rumors going around after Gareon Conley attended the Ohio State-Michigan game. I separated fact from fiction and broke the news that Conley will make an official visit to Ohio State on Dec. 6
Defensive tackle Donovan Munger talked to Stan Drayton earlier this week and Munger set an official visit to Ohio State for the weekend of Dec. 8.
Ed Warinner called UCLA offensive line commitment Kenny Lacy on Thursday and offered him a scholarship. Lacy was surprised, but excited about the offer from the Buckeyes.
As you can see from the above list, it was another very busy week for Buckeye recruiting and another very, very busy week here at Bucknuts.com. We continue our complete Buckeye recruiting coverage first thing Sunday morning with the latest edition of my 2013 Ohio State Hot List.
