Buckeye Recruiting Week In Review

On Sunday I had the latest edition of my 2013 Ohio State Offers & Odds. There was some definite change since the last time I ran this Sunday feature with odds on a number of prospects going up.

Mitchell made his official visit to Ohio State last weekend and came away very impressed.

On Sunday broke the news that Urban Meyer had landed commitment No. 19 for his 2013 recruiting class as defensive tackle Donovan Munger committed to the Buckeyes on his Ohio State official visit.

Soon after breaking the news of the Munger commitment, Bucknuts had a follow-up story on the impact of Munger’s decision.

Also on Sunday had the story of how 4-star linebacker Mike Mitchell’s Ohio State official visit went. Mitchell did not commit to the Buckeyes, but certainly came away very impressed with what he heard and saw at Ohio State

And finally on Sunday, I posted a story that Mike Vrabel would be visiting Wisconsin 2014 offensive line commitment Jaden Gault the next day, Monday, Dec. 10.

On Monday morning I posted the latest edition of What I Am Hearing. In this edition I had information on an advantage the Buckeyes have in their bid to land Mitchell, a realization Cornelius Elder has had that seems to be in Ohio State’s favor and much more.

Also on Monday, I had the latest on JUCO linebacker Tommy Sanders who made an official visit to Ohio State last weekend. Sanders said he had a great time on his OSU visit and would be announcing his college choice on Dec. 12, but then backed off and decided to make an official visit to either South Carolina or Auburn this weekend.

On Tuesday morning I began the day with a story on 4-star running back David Williams who said he heard again from Ohio State assistant coach Ed Warinner and Williams is again interested in making an official visit to OSU.

Also on Tuesday I had a story about offensive lineman Kenny Lacy who is planning to make an official visit to Ohio State the weekend of Jan. 11. Lacy is a “soft” UCLA commitment.

On Wednesday OSU assistant Everett Withers was slated to stop at Glenville to see Chris Worley and I had word on the visit on Tuesday night.

Offensive lineman David Dawson has rescheduled his official visit to Ohio State. The 4-star lineman will visit the Buckeyes in January.

The Buckeyes are interested in Wisconsin 2014 defensive end commitment Conor Sheehy. Sheehy told me he expects a visit from OSU assistant Mike Vrabel.

2014 safety Nick Glass has transferred to Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge High School where another 2014 player the Buckeyes have offered is, offensive lineman Orlando Brown. On Friday the Buckeyes were to stop in to check on the two and I had stories on both this past week.

This week the Buckeyes offered two more Florida underclassmen, 2014 wide receiver Isaiah Ford and 2015 linebacker Jeffrey Holland who are teammates at Jacksonville Trinity Christian. Both are talking about when they can get up to Columbus to visit the Buckeyes.

On Wednesday Withers stopped at Cleveland Glenville to talk to Worley and the two talked about Worley making an official visit to Ohio State the weekend of Jan. 11.

Mitchell cancelled his visit to Texas A&M this weekend. What does that mean to Ohio State?

As you can see from above, it was another very busy week for Buckeye recruiting and another very, very busy week here at We continue our complete Buckeye recruiting coverage first thing Sunday morning with the latest edition of my 2013 Ohio State Prediction Update.
