Buckeye Recruiting Week In Review

On Sunday I had the latest edition of my Ohio 2014 Top 15. This edition had Buckeye targets Dante Booker and Marshon Lattimore at No. 1 and No. 3 respectively.

Will the battle for wide receiver Tony Stevens come down to Ohio State or Florida State?

On Monday morning I posted the latest edition of What I Am Hearing. In this edition I had information on the battle for star wide receiver Tony Stevens possibly coming down to Ohio State and Florida State, the OSU staff looking to “flip” another Michigan commitment their way, some family news that could be in the Buckeyes’ favor when it comes to landing a star defensive back and more.

I started off Christmas morning with a preview of the Jan. 12 weekend which will be a huge recruiting weekend for the Buckeyes as Urban Meyer welcomes in a number of top 2013 prospects on official visits and also hosts a big junior day on Jan. 13 in conjunction with the Ohio State-Michigan basketball game.

Also on Christmas morning had two stories on Meyer landing his first 2014 commitment, offensive lineman Marcelys Jones.

On Wednesday morning Bucknuts had the latest from 2014 tight end Jeb Blazevich who has narrowed his impressive list of scholarship offers down to six schools with Ohio State being one of the six. In the story Blazevich talks about each of the six schools individually.

On Thursday morning I began with the latest from Ohio State linebacker target Trey Johnson who plans to announce his college choice at the Under Armour All-American Game on Jan. 5.

I followed my Johnson story on Thursday morning with a story on 4-star Buckeye linebacker target Mike Mitchell who will likely announce his college choice at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 4.

2014 wide receiver Demarre Kitt says he has moved the Buckeyes up on his list. In fact Kitt says Ohio State has now moved to the top spot on his list – tied with Clemson. Kitt is one of the Buckeyes’ top 2014 wide receiver targets.

Ryan Timmons has long said he hopes to land a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes. Timmons has scheduled an official visit to Ohio State the weekend of Jan. 11 and feels that might be when he receives the OSU offer.

As you can see from above, it was another very busy week for Buckeye recruiting and another very, very busy week here at We continue our complete Buckeye recruiting coverage first thing Sunday morning with the latest edition of my 2014 Ohio Top 15.
