We started our coverage this past week on Monday with the news that 4-star linebacker Mike Mitchell had committed to Ohio State over scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Oregon and many others.
Mike Mitchell became commitment No. 21 in Urban Meyer's 2013 recruiting class.
We followed up our Mitchell commitment story right away with a story on what impact Mitchell’s decision will have on Buckeye football and the Ohio State team next season.
Our final article on Mitchell’s decision was packed with quotes from Mitchell on why he picked Ohio State, his goal to get on the playing field next season as a true freshman, and what Mitchell going to Ohio State might mean to his younger brothers including Mickey who is an outstanding 6-foot-7 shooter that is going to be highly recruited by major college basketball programs.
On Monday morning I posted the latest edition of What I Am Hearing. In this edition I had information on Urban Meyer’s big impact on Mitchell’s decision, Joey Bosa making his recruiting pitch for Ohio State, and the OSU staff making a strong run at landing another 2013 offensive lineman.
I posted a story on Tuesday morning in which offensive lineman Cameron Hunt talks about being offered by the Buckeyes and making an official visit to Ohio State.
What did Donte Wilson say about perhaps making an official visit to Ohio State?
Shelton Gibson is making an official visit to Ohio State this weekend. Will he commit to the Buckeyes before leaving Columbus or will he continue the process, perhaps all the way to National Signing Day?
The Buckeyes have offered another offensive lineman, this offer going out to 2014 offensive tackle Roderick Johnson. I had two stories on Johnson this week including one in which Johnson talks about making a second visit to Ohio State.
What does Bill Kurelic's crystal ball say will happen with 5-star safety Vonn Bell?
This weekend is a huge recruiting weekend for the Buckeyes with prospects making official visits and a big junior day on Sunday, Jan. 13. A couple of weeks back I previewed this huge weekend and then this past week Steve Wiltfong weighed in with his thoughts on the weekend.
2014 wide receiver Thaddeus Snodgrass worked out at the Under Armour Combine in Florida and while in the Sunshine State talked with Steve Helwagen about the schools that have offered him a scholarship.
On Thursday I had the debut of a new column called “Kurelic’s Talking…” The first edition included my crystal ball on OSU recruiting being on target lately and what I see happening as far as Vonn Bell goes, a prospect who was difficult to deal with and one that was very easy to deal with, Derrick Green possibly going to Michigan and more.
Also on Thursday Wiltfong had the news of a new Buckeye offer, this one going out to 2014 defensive end Lawrence Marshall from Southfield, Mich.
Buckeye 5-star 2014 linebacker target Raekwon McMillan says Ohio State is No. 1 on his list with Clemson No. 2.
Meyer and Clemson coach Dabo Sweeney are going head-to-head for three top 2014 prospects from the state of Georgia, quarterback Deshawn Watson, linebacker Raekwon McMillan and wide receiver Demarre Kit.
Braden Smith, one of the country’s top 2014 offensive linemen and a Buckeye target, was at the Under Armour Combine and Helwagen spoke to him there about his interest in Ohio State.
The week concluded with a bang as Chris Worley committed to Ohio State on Friday afternoon. I had the commitment story as well as a story on what the impact of Worley’s decision will be.
