Our recruiting coverage this past week began with my usual Sunday feature. This week it was a look at Urban Meyer heading north into Brady Hoke territory and going for the top 2014 and 2015 prospects in the state of Michigan.
Running back Elijah Hood visited Ohio State, Notre Dame and Michigan last weekend.
On Monday morning I posted the latest edition of What I Am Hearing. In this edition I had news on how many offensive linemen the Ohio State staff has slotted for their 2014 recruiting class at this point, an offensive lineman that is not being highly mentioned but is a top Ohio State target, a super defensive back in Texas the Buckeyes are making a strong pitch for and more.
On Monday evening Bucknuts had the story on 4-star running back Elijah Hood’s Midwest trip last weekend. Hood visited Notre Dame on Friday, Michigan on Saturday and Ohio State on Sunday. Afterwards he ranked in order his top three choices.
On Tuesday morning I had a story on offensive lineman Quenton Nelson who is a definite Buckeye target. Nelson plans to visit Ohio State at the end of March.
The Buckeyes did a great job recruiting in the state of Texas for their 2013 class and they are back at it in 2014 with one of their targets being 5-Star cornerback Tony Brown. The good news for Buckeye Nation is that Brown says he will make an official visit to Ohio State.
On Wednesday I held another chat on the Front Row Message Board and many great questions were asked. Wednesday night I also posted the chat transcripts.
On Thursday morning I had the latest from one-time Ohio State commitment, defensive end Lawrence Marshall. In the story Marshall talks about where the Buckeyes stand and if they are still making a strong push for his services.
On Thursday night I posted a story on linebacker Kyle Berger who made a visit to Michigan last weekend and told me he might make another visit to Ohio State today.
On Friday morning I had a story on one of the top linebackers in the South, Dillon Bates. Bates visited Ohio State during the football season when he attended the Ohio State-Illinois game. Bates is hoping to visit the Buckeyes again during the Ohio State spring practice sessions.
