Our recruiting coverage this past week began early Saturday morning as wide receiver Drake Harris, who arrived at Ohio State on Friday morning, finished his visit and headed back to Michigan with a stop at Michigan’s spring game before making it home. Harris was certainly impressed with his OSU visit saying he “loved it” at Ohio State.
What have I heard that could be a key to potentially "flipping" DeShaun Watson from Clemson to Ohio State?
With the Ohio State spring game in Cincinnati this year, the OSU staff made the weekend of April 6 their big recruiting weekend. But even so, some talented prospects made it to the Ohio State spring game in Paul Brown Stadium including Lonnie Johnson, Daniel Cage and Austin Roberts.
On Monday morning I posted the latest edition of What I Am Hearing. In this edition I had what I have heard about a potential key to landing quarterback DeShaun Watson, rumblings on 5-star defensive back Jabrill Peppers, perhaps a tall, talented prospect playing in the slot for the Buckeyes down the road and more.
What if the Buckeyes don’t land Watson? If that doesn’t happen another definite quarterback candidate has emerged in Brandon Harris. Harris and the Ohio State staff certainly have a mutual interest.
Christian McCaffrey was excited to land an offer from Ohio State this past week.
Georgia 4-star teammates, linebacker Kevin Mouton and athlete Myles Autry, are talking about visiting Ohio State this summer.
On Tuesday and Wednesday I did front page features that connected to Front Row Message Board threads with tidbits and Buckeye recruiting buzz. Included in the items were a 5-star defensive back possibly visiting Ohio State; the OSU staff getting creative in their bid to land a JUCO offensive line target; and a 4-star running back being excited about landing an offer from the Buckeyes and talking to Urban Meyer. This new feature was a hit and now Kurelic’s Buckeye Recruiting Tidbits & Buzz is another one of my features that only Bucknuts.com has.
Defensive tackle Thomas Holley, the No. 1 prospect in the state of New York, has an Ohio State offer and says he will visit OSU.
Wide receiver Mark Andrews visited Ohio State on Thursday and Bucknuts had a preview of that visit.
One of the top prospects on the East Coast, 4-star athlete Curtis Samuel, says he plans to visit Ohio State either later this spring or during the summer. Samuel also says two schools stand out to him and Ohio State is one of the two.
Tight end Garrett Dickerson who the Buckeyes have offered, has narrowed his list down to five schools and Ohio State is one of the five. His final list also includes Stanford and Alabama.
Wide receiver Saeed Blacknall has three schools at the top of his list, Ohio State, Florida State and LSU.
As you can see from above, it was another very busy week for Buckeye recruiting and another very, very busy week here at Bucknuts.com. We continue our complete Buckeye recruiting coverage with my Sunday feature which this week will be the latest edition of my 2014 Ohio State Hot List.
