Buckeye Recruiting Week In Review

The recruiting coverage for the week began bright and early Sunday morning with the latest edition of my Ohio class of 2015 Top 15. Buckeye commitment Eric Glover-Williams remained No. 1 on my list with a couple other OSU targets right behind him.

Defensive back Jamel Dean became Urban Meyer's second 2015 commitment.

On Sunday we had the tenth edition of our feature, JJHuddle.com Prep Report. Eric Frantz and I combined for a review of how all of the Buckeyes’ commitments did including the “Future Buckeye Of The Week,” and a review of the top Ohio prep performers for the weekend. Terry McLaurin was our “Future Buckeye Of The Week.”

Our Bucknuts.com recruiting coverage continued on Sunday evening with the Buckeyes landing their second 2015 commitment, this one coming from cornerback Jamel Dean. I had both a story about his commitment and one on the impact of his decision posted very shortly after Dean announced his choice.

On Monday morning I posted the latest edition of What I Am Hearing. In this edition I had rumblings on 5-star linebacker Raekwon McMillan, potential “flips” for the Buckeyes, Ohio State vs Michigan recruiting and much more.

Urban Meyer will make his in-home visit with linebacker Raekwon McMillan on Dec. 15.

  • Bill:
I read recently that Rogers and Thompson were leaning to us for 2014. Is the Staff still interested in these two guys? If so, are they putting the full court press on them to commit?

Re Mavety and McMillan, of course I want both to commit to us ASAP. However, the Staff seems to have done an excellent job already recruiting at their respective positions. We have four great OL recruits and three of the four are actually rated higher by Bucknuts than Mavety. As for LBs, we already have three highly ranked guys and Booker is rated nearly as highly as McMillan. Because of this, it seems as though Lattimore and Smith should be higher priorities, since we need quality CBs and Safeties. Do you agree?

I too have heard that Rogers is leaning towards us, and would love to see him in Scarlet Gray. From what I'm reading here and elsewhere, however, Thompson could go to either tOSU or Clemson but that both are slow-playing him.

Let's see what Bill has to say.
