Our coverage began on Sunday morning with my weekly feature which last week was the first edition of my 2014 Ohio State Hot List. Urban Meyer and his staff seem to have the Buckeyes’ in position to land a spectacular 2014 recruiting class and in this feature I look at close to two dozen 2014 Buckeye targets and rank them in order.
OSU 2014 offensive line target Mason Cole will attend the Buckeyes' Friday Night Lights July 27
On Monday morning I posted the latest edition of What I Am Hearing. In this edition I had an item on an Ohio offensive lineman that the Buckeyes decided not to offer that ended up committing to Wisconsin, a Florida 2014 duo planning to attend the Buckeyes’ Friday Night Lights on July 27 and much more.
2014 offensive lineman Mason Cole (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake) has an Ohio State scholarship offer and says he is definitely interested in OSU. In fact Cole plans to be in Columbus at the end of this month for Friday Night Lights at Ohio State.
When Cole flies up to Ohio State he will be with his parents, but he will also be with a 2014 teammate. Wide receiver Artavis Scott who the Buckeyes have also offered, plans to make the trip to Columbus for Friday Night Lights with Cole and his family.
On the 4th of July former Ohio State linebacker commitment Lewis Neal announced he is headed elsewhere. Neal announced he is now an LSU commitment. I then looked at the impact of Neal’s decision on Urban Meyer’s 2013 recruiting class and what is next for Meyer in regards to linebackers.
With Neal headed to LSU, it could be Tyquan Lewis time for the Buckeyes. Lewis is a bigger Ohio State target than ever now that Neal is headed to LSU.
The nation’s top rated cornerback, Vernon Hargreaves, plans to make a Midwest trip and stop for visits at Ohio State and Notre Dame on July 16.
2014 offensive lineman Jared McCray worked out at the Buckeyes’ Two Day Position Camp on June 21-22 at the urging of Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman.
Running back Taquan Mizzell says he has six schools that stand out from his long list of scholarship offers. Ohio State is one of those six schools.
It was another very busy week for Buckeye recruiting and another very busy week here at Bucknuts.com. That is not going to change as the week begins here tomorrow with the latest from one of the top 2014 prospects on the Buckeyes’ recruiting board.
