**Headed North? … An injury to a top prospect the Buckeyes are recruiting could play into Ohio State’s favor. 4-star wide receiver MarQuez North (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek) tore the labrum in his right shoulder and has missed the last two games. Mallard Creek is in the second round of the state playoffs, but North won’t return to action this season.
Because North won’t be able to play even if his high school team advances further in the playoffs, the country’s No. 12 receiver in the 247Sports rankings has scheduled an official visit to Ohio State and will be in the “Shoe” for The Game.
If Mallard Creek continues to win they could still be playing the weekend of Nov. 24 when the Buckeyes host Michigan. But because North won’t be able to play even if Mallard Creek makes it that far, the country’s No. 12 receiver in the 247Sports rankings has scheduled an official visit to Ohio State and will be in the “Shoe” for The Game.
No, we aren’t wishing for injuries to North or any of the prospects the Buckeyes are recruiting, but if North comes away from The Game thinking he wants to be a Buckeye, well…
