Boarding House: Friday Edition

**Mariano Meyer? … On Thursday, Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman was in the Lone Star State visiting 4-star slot receiver/running back Dontre Wilson (DeSoto, Texas/DeSoto). While waiting for Herman to arrive, Wilson told Bucknuts.com Herman and Urban Meyer were on the way. However, it was actually just Herman that was scheduled for the visit.

The 5-foot-10 and 165-pound Wilson is the nation's No. 7 all-purpose back.

Well, Meyer will meet with Wilson, but that will come after Wilson makes his official visit to Ohio State the weekend of Jan. 25. When Wilson makes that visit the OSU staff feels pretty good about its ability to convince him Ohio State would be the best place to continue his education and football career, then Meyer can come in with his home-visit and close the deal providing a final decision is made that Wilson is the guy.

The 5-foot-10 and 165-pound Wilson is the country’s No. 113 overall prospect, the No. 7 all-purpose back, and the No. 13 prospect in Texas in the 247Sports rankings.

**O’Brien Update … We told you earlier in the week in the House that we reached out to former Ohio State basketball coach Jim O’Brien, who is now the coach at Division III Emerson College in Boston. We wanted to record an interview with O’Brien – who hasn’t done any interviews with an OSU-centric publication since his firing in June of 2004 – for Front Row Radio.
