**Next In Line? … The Buckeyes offered a scholarship to offensive lineman Tim Gardner right after their Friday Night Lights camp and Gardner quickly accepted, becoming the second offensive lineman in Urban Meyer’s 2013 recruiting class. The question then became what that meant to Dennis Finley or any other offensive lineman that has been on the Buckeyes’ radar screen (example: recently de-committed Dorian Johnson). Would the Buckeyes still have room for another offensive lineman in their 2013 recruiting class?
Is Finley the one?
The answer is not a simple one because more is involved than just the offensive line. For instance, the Ohio State staff does not know right now if it is going to land safety Vonn Bell, but they know they have a very legitimate shot. They also don’t know if they are going to land linebacker Mike Mitchell or if they will be able to convince Florida linebacker Daniel McMillian to switch him commitment to Ohio State.
But one thing we are hearing is that there is definitely still an interest in taking another offensive lineman and three possibilities are Johnson, Finley and J.P. Vonashek the tackle from Georgia who committed to South Carolina on June 9. The two factors will be what happens with other prospects such as Bell and Mitchell and can they land an offensive tackle they simply feel they can’t turn down.
**Gem In Minster? … When you hear the Buckeyes are looking at a football prospect from Minster High about 55 miles north of Dayton, you know they are searching high and low for talent in Ohio.
