Boarding House: Friday Edition

**Mama Said … Urban Meyer gained an important commitment on Thursday afternoon when 4-star defensive end/outside linebacker Tyquan Lewis (Tarboro, N.C./Tarboro) announced he had picked the Buckeyes over scholarship offers from North Carolina, LSU and approximately a dozen other schools.

Lewis became a done deal for the Buckeyes and Meyer had another important prospect as he builds a fast and aggressive SEC style defense at Ohio State.

Lewis’ decision certainly wasn’t unexpected. If you have paid attention to Buckeye football recruiting here at Bucknuts (and we know all of you have), then you know it would have been a shock had Lewis not announced a commitment to Ohio State.

And in fact Lewis has known for a long time that he is Ohio State bound. He actually made his decision about two weeks after visiting Ohio State July 27 for Friday Night Lights. Lewis did not work out at that camp, but made the trip to Columbus that weekend with his mother so she could see Ohio State herself and meet Meyer and his coaching staff.

Once Lewis’ mother was convinced, Lewis became a done deal for the Buckeyes and Meyer had another important prospect as he builds a fast and aggressive SEC style defense at Ohio State.

**More Bite For Nate Dogg? … The good news for fifth-year senior defensive end Nathan Williams is he’s playing a lot more than anyone expected. The bad news is he is not making many plays yet.

*Is that about to change for the better?

*Change in philosophy?

*Fickell going forward?

*Blossoming Braxtom?
