Boarding House: Monday Edition

** St. Louis Delivery? … Buckeye running back commitment Ezekiel Elliott will play for a state championship on Friday afternoon. He will then head to Columbus very, very early on Saturday morning for an unofficial visit to Ohio State. Elliott will make the trip with his family, but one other passenger may ride along with Elliott and company.

Horton: On the OSU radar?

Class of 2014 cornerback Raymond Wingo (St. Louis, Mo./University) is friends with Elliott and says he may make the trip to Columbus with the Elliott family. Wingo is an outstanding corner who intercepted five passes and rushed for 1,379 yards this season. He has early scholarship offers from Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa and Kansas State. Wingo’s older brother is Arkansas senior running back Ronnie Wingo.

**Less Is More? … Earlier this year we talked about Class of 2014 running Mikel Horton from Lakota West High near Cincy.

*Is there more (or less) to talk about it now?

*Center of attention?

*Gene getting heat from inside?

*Should we be excited about adding Terps?

  • Both Maryland and Rutgers are AAU, Association of American Universities, which all B1G schools are members. (Nebraska may have lost their affiliation). This membership is important to the Presidents of the University from prestiege and research $$$$. Future expansion will probably be schools that are AAU members.

Maryland and Rutgers are good additions overall to the B1G. If it helps to keep Notre Dame out, then I am all for it. Now we need to drop games between the B1G and ND too. Let them play the ACC teams in their 40,000 seat stadiums, most of them 50% full.
