**Offer Impending? … The Buckeyes have already offered scholarships to a pair of Ohio Class of 2014 wide receivers - Marshon Lattimore (Cleveland Glenville) and Thaddeus Snodgrass (Springfield) - though we know Gibson’s offer is not a committable one right now.
Watkins has played quarterback, wide receiver, defensive back and linebacker on the Galion varsity since his sophomore season.
Well, another Class of 2014 Ohio wide receiver, Dareian Watkins from Galion, is also expecting a Buckeye offer. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Watkins has played quarterback, wide receiver, defensive back and linebacker on the Galion varsity since his sophomore season. He caught 24 passes for 500 yards with 10 touchdowns during his junior season and is being recruited as a wide receiver by the Buckeyes.
Watkins attended a Buckeye practice a few weeks ago and sat down with Urban Meyer.
“He told me I’ll have an offer coming as a wide receiver,” Watkins said.
Watkins currently has 10 offers including Illinois, Northwestern, Cincinnati, Indiana, Purdue and Georgia Tech. A Michigan State assistant stopped at his school on Tuesday and Watkins has his eye on offers from the Buckeyes and Spartans.
Watkins is a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports rankings. He is the country’s No. 110 prospect, the No. 10 athlete and the No. 3 prospect in Ohio’s Class of 2014.
**Size Matters … We’ve been waiting to talk to a certain scouting source who has been bullish on Gareon Conley since last summer. Back then, this source said Conley was the best Ohio cornerback in the Class of 2013. Yes, the best. The wait to talk recently ended.
*Is the scout still impressed?
*Was there pressure from some heavy hitters in C-bus to sit DeVier Posey for the rest of the season?
