Boarding House: Thursday Edition

**How Far West? … On Wednesday in The House we had word on Lima Central Catholic Class of 2014 safety Darius West who checks in at No. 212 nationally and as Ohio's No. 12 prospect in the 247Sports rankings.

West is on the radar for sure ... but how strong is the signal?

West has a solid list of early offers that includes Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Louisville and Purdue.

West attended the Ohio State-Michigan tussle, so while the Buckeyes haven’t offered, he is on their radar screen.

We did some additional checking and came up with these comments on West from a coach at a school West played against this past season.

“Very good athlete and speed,” the coach said. “Did not come up and make any big hits or plays. Ran out of bounds on a kickoff return. Athlete? Yes. Fast? Yes? Unmeasurables? No.”

Sounds like a guy that will likely stay on the Buckeyes’ radar for a while – but probably not an offer guy anytime soon.

** New Sheriff In Madison … Everybody knows there was some friction between Urban Meyer and former Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema. Ol ‘Bret was mad Meyer flipped offensive lineman Kyle Dodson on National Signing Day last year. Meyer could hardly bring himself to pronounce Bielema’s name properly or seemingly give that program any credit.

*Will that change now?

*Jones the right place to start?

*New flavor for Ginn?

*Mighty Mick?
