**Working Michigan … The Buckeyes had commitments from two of the top four 2014 prospects in Michigan in cornerback Damon Webb (Detroit, Mich./Cass Tech) and defensive end Lawrence Marshall (Southfield, Mich./Southfield).
A safe option?
However, that number was cut in half on Wednesday night when Marshall de-committed after visiting Michigan State on Tuesday night and Michigan on Wednesday. Marshall could end up back in the OSU fold, but for now he has opened his recruitment back up.
Detroit Loyola defensive end Malik McDowell, the No. 1 2014 prospect in Michigan, was planning to workout at the Nike Combine in Massillon on Saturday and then go from there to Columbus and visit Ohio State. However, late Wednesday night McDowell said he was not going to attend the Nike Combine this weekend though the Ohio State visit is up in the air.
“I might go to OSU,” McDowell said.
Like Marshall, McDowell attended the Michigan State-Michigan basketball game on Tuesday night.
“It was really fun,” McDowell said.
Nobody said Urban Meyer’s raid of the state of Michigan was going to be easy…
**Pipeline Possibilities … Yesterday, we shared Class of 2013 signee Christopher Worley’s thoughts on Florida State making a late play for his commitment. But we also chatted with about the next class of key prospects coming from his high school: Cleveland Glenville.
