**Looking North For ’14? … The Buckeyes offered a scholarship to class of 2013 H-back Wyatt Shallman (Detroit, Mich.) Catholic Central), but Shallman committed to Michigan. Shallman is the only 2013 prospect from the state of Michigan the Buckeyes have offered and they aren’t expected to offer any other current junior from the state up north.

The Buckeyes have already expressed interest in Class of '14 Michigander Malik McDowell.
On the other hand, the OSU staff has already been in contact with a number of Michigan class of 2014 prospects and has offered a scholarship to one of them thus far, defensive end Malik McDowell (Detroit, Mich./Loyola), who was in Columbus on Saturday participating in the Nike Football Training Camp at Ohio Dominican University.
Look for the Buckeyes to also take a good look at sophomore offensive lineman Nick Padla (Berrien Springs, Mich./Berrien Springs). The 6-foot-5 and 260-pound Padla said coaches from Michigan State and Michigan recently stopped at his school and have invited him to attend their senior camps next month. Padla says Michigan State and Michigan are two schools he is interested in, but he also names Ohio State, Wisconsin, Notre Dame and USC as schools he wants to look at. Padla mentions the Ohio State fan base and tradition as well as their rivalry with Michigan as things he likes about OSU.
