Allen is aware of the super haul of defensive ends the Buckeyes signed last recruiting season, along with their 2013 commitment from the country’s No. 2 strong-side defensive end, Joey Bosa. Allen has thought about the Bucks’ riches at the position, but says it won’t be much of a factor in his decision. He’s not a young man that fears competition to say the least.
Alabama holds the lead for Allen – and Florida is also in the mix – but Meyer will get his shot. Allen’s OSU visit will likely be in June. We tend to think Allen is a bit of a long-shot to sign with the Buckeyes, but he insists he’s interested in learning more about the program and taking the aforementioned visit.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Allen is ranked as the No. 1 weak-side defensive end in the country by 247Sports and the No. 10 overall recruit in the nation.
