**Pace Setter … Class of 2014 offensive lineman Denzel Ward (Chicago, Ill./King College Prep) worked out at Urban Meyer’s first Ohio State Friday Night Lights this past weekend. One of the celebrity coaches that could be seen working with Ward was former Buckeye and NFL great Orlando Pace. At 6-foot-8 and 290-pounds Ward has size similar to Pace when the Big-O was a star tackle for Sandusky High School. And also like Pace was at the time, Ward is a basketball player.

OSU has something going for it when it comes to Allen ...
Going into the camp Ward said he had never heard of Pace. By the end of the camp Ward certainly was very familiar with him as Pace wasn’t shy about helping out Ward and Ward seemed very appreciative.
Time will tell if the Buckeyes end up offering Ward a scholarship (he currently has an offer from Purdue), but OSU offensive line coach Ed Warinner and Mike Vrabel who recruits the Chicago area made sure Ward knows there is definite interest on the part of the OSU staff. If an offer is eventually extended and Ward were to end up at Ohio State, a big assist would have to go out to Pace.
**Comfort Zone … If wide receiver Devon Allen ends up at Ohio State, one interesting reason for it has come to light.
