**Waiting Game … On Monday night, linebacker Tommy Sanders (El Dorado, Kan./Butler Community College) said he would be announcing his college choice on Wednesday. Sanders has made official visits to Ohio State, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Central Florida. All indications were Sanders wanted to commit to either the Buckeyes or Aggies. Problem is … neither is ready to accept his commitment just yet.
The Trey Johnson domino is one of two that needs to fall before the Buckeyes make a call on Tommy Sanders.
So Sanders is going to make an official visit this weekend to either South Carolina or Auburn and delay his announcement. That certainly should be fine with both the OSU and Texas A&M coaching staffs as they continue to wait on others higher on their boards.
On the other hand, we are hearing Mississippi State really wants Sanders and South Carolina and Auburn may feel the same way.
Bottom line right now, the Buckeyes have Mike Mitchell and Trey Johnson as the two linebackers they are ready to take. We are told the Aggies really like Sanders and his speed, but are only going to take one more guy that will enroll in January and their top choice is defensive end Za’Darius Smith. Sanders could end up at either Ohio State or Texas A&M, but in the case of the Buckeyes we are hearing the staff feels pretty good in regards to where things currently stand with Mitchell and Johnson.
**Buckeyes vs. Gators? … Could the recruitment of a certain in-state prospect come down to a battle between Urb and his former employer in Gainesville?
