**Where’s Gilligan? … Urban Meyer wants to add an offensive lineman - preferably a tackle – to his 2013 recruiting class. Tennessee commitment Dan Skipper appears to be the current No. 1 choice and over the weekend Meyer and staff won Round One in their battle to land the 6-foot-10, 292-pound Skipper.
The Buckeyes will get Skipper's coveted fifth visit.
Skipper has already made official visits to Tennessee and Michigan, and has been planning to visit Arkansas and Ole Miss. For his fifth visit Skipper had several suitors including Ohio State, Colorado and Cal.
On Saturday, Ohio State offensive line coach Ed Warinner met with Skipper who was on a family vacation in Florida. Skipper decided Ohio State would be his fifth visit, but he and Warinner had to get a little creative to make things work. Skipper can’t make an official visit this weekend and did not want to carry his visits through to the Feb. 2 weekend right before National Signing Day. So Skipper will visit Arkansas and Ohio State in a “split weekend” visit with Arkansas being Jan. 17, 18 and the first half of the day Jan. 19. Skipper will then fly from Arkansas to Ohio State and begin his visit with the Buckeyes the afternoon of Jan. 19 and finish it on Sunday night Jan. 20. His last visit will be to Ole Miss Jan. 24.
Having secured Skipper to Columbus for an official visit, Meyer and his staff will turn their attention to beating out Tennessee, Michigan, Arkansas and Ole Miss for the huge lineman’s services.
