**Calling On Cass … Kerry Coombs’ recruiting work in Michigan, and at Detroit Cass Tech in particular, continues. Coombs and the Buckeyes have a commitment from one Cass Tech star in Class of 2014 4-star cornerback Damon Webb. Coombs is also in contact with Cass Tech linebacker/running back Gary Hosey.
The 6-foot, 225-pound Hosey made 65 tackles and rushed for 1,525 yards during his junior season.
The 6-foot, 225-pound Hosey made 65 tackles and rushed for 1,525 yards during his junior season. Hosey has scholarship offers from Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Toledo, Bowling Green and Ball State. He is visiting Michigan State today and feels the Spartans are close to offering.
A visit to Ohio State is also in the works.
“Coach Coombs and I talk pretty often,” Hosey said. “He wants me to come down for a visit. Hopefully I will soon. Coach Coombs likes me at linebacker, but he said I could also play running back. Damon tells me about Ohio State. We could get down there together.”
Two of Webb and Hosey’s 2015 teammates, running back Mike Weber and defensive lineman Joshua Alabi, have scholarship offers from Ohio State.
