**Thanks, Tress? … The Buckeyes would love to land tight end Tyler Luatua.

Luatua's coach is a Tressel fan.

The LaMirada (Calif.) star is the country’s No. 1 tight end prospect in the 247Composite and has a list of scholarship offers that includes Ohio State, USC, Alabama, Notre Dame, Florida State and Michigan just to name a few. Some feel the Buckeyes are a bit of a long shot to land Luatua, but the 6-foot-4 and 230-pounder is planning to visit Ohio State.

And the Ohio State staff may have a bit of an ally in their bid to land Luatua. Luatua’s coach Mike Moschetti is a big fan of college football and college football coaches. One coach Moschetti likes is former Buckeye coach Jim Tressel. In fact, Moschetti has a copy of Tressel’s book “The Winner’s Manual” in his car.

Urban Meyer and his staff would like nothing better than to tell Tressel that perhaps without even knowing it he helped them land the country’s top tight end prospect.

And wouldn’t that be ironic since the tight end did not often catch many passes in Tressel’s offense.

**Cornered Market … Cornerbacks coach Kerry Coombs spent the spring putting two early enrolling freshmen through their paces in. They were both national top-60 prospects in the 2013 class.
