**Whose Signal Will Be Called? … Urban Meyer and offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Tom Herman are keeping a close eye on close to a half dozen Class of 2014 quarterbacks and trying to decide which one is the guy for the Buckeyes’ offense. The list includes William Crest, Caleb Henderson, Kyle Allen, DeShone Kizer and Drew Barker. Meyer and Herman want to get each in the Horseshoe to see the Buckeyes play in-person sometime this season.

Crest could be in Columbus in a little over a month.
In the case of Crest, the Baltimore (Md.) Dunbar star is talking about making the trip to Columbus the weekend of Sept. 22 when the Buckeyes host Alabama-Birmingham. While that game is certainly not considered one of the prime OSU home games this season, it is one Crest is looking forward to. Not only will he get to see the Buckeyes in-person, but he is also looking forward to seeing UAB quarterback Jonathan Perry in action.
Perry is a graduate of Dunbar, and Crest calls him his top “mentor.” But first and foremost, Crest is looking forward to seeing the Buckeyes. His top three schools are Ohio State, Maryland and West Virginia.
**Roby’s New Role … Everyone expected sophomore Brad Roby to be a lockdown cornerback for Ohio State this season; and that’s exactly what he plans on doing.
*The plan is ... ?
*Why did Kenny Hayes leave?
*Powell's play?
*Rod heating up?
