** Good Counseling …. The Buckeyes recruited Stefon Diggs (Olney, Md./Good Counsel), in fact Luke Fickell began recruiting Diggs before he took over for Jim Tressel as the Bucks’ head coach. Then when Urban Meyer took over he made one last run at Diggs before the star receiver signed with Maryland.
This has become a routine practice occurence ... which is good. Click through to find out why.
However, all with Diggs might not have been for naught. When 2014 offensive lineman Sam Mustipher was a freshman (and varsity starter) at Good Counsel, Fickell was in the weight room watching Diggs. Fickell then went outside and saw Mustipher work out and began recruiting the 6-foot-4 and 270-pound lineman. At that time Mustipher started to become interested in Ohio State.
A year and a half later Mustipher, who lists Ohio State, Maryland, Rutgers, West Virginia, Illinois, North Carolina State, Tulane and Hawaii as his eight scholarship offers, remains interested in OSU. All this is not to say Mustipher will become a Buckeye. But it could happen, and if it does the origin will trace back to Fickell recruiting Diggs.
**Horton Hears A Who? … There is no question the Buckeye cupboard is full at running back. But that won’t stop the staff from searching for more.
