Buckeye Recruiting Week In Review

The week began on Sunday morning as I posted a story on Alex Anzalone. The star Pennsylvania linebacker had visited Penn State the day before and told me he would be attending the Ohio State spring game today rather than either Penn State or Notre Dame’s spring games which are also today.

On Monday morning I posted the latest edition of What I Am Hearing. In this edition I had more information on Anzalone and his Ohio State visit today, information on the Robert Foster rumors from his Ohio State visit, a star Florida defensive lineman that is hearing plenty of good things about Ohio State and more.

On Tuesday morning I posted a story on defensive tackle Maurice Hurst Jr., who is the No. 1 prospect in the state of Massachusetts. The Buckeyes have offered Hurst a scholarship and he is in Columbus this weekend visiting Ohio State.

Big news came Tuesday afternoon as defensive lineman Tracy Sprinkle became commitment No. 9 for Urban Meyer’s 2013 recruiting class.

Wide receiver Devon Allen, an Ohio State legacy, plans to head from Arizona to the Midwest this summer with visits to Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan, Purdue and probably Notre Dame. Allen has family in Columbus and will likely begin his visits with OSU.

The big news on Wednesday was the commitment of the country’s No. 1 dual-threat quarterback, JT Barrett, to the Buckeyes. Barrett became commitment No. 10 for Meyer’s 2013 recruiting class.

With the news of Barrett’s commitment, Bucknuts followed up with the reactions of some other top quarterbacks the OSU staff has been recruiting such at Mitch Trubisky, Brice Ramsey and Bucky Hodges.

On Thursday morning I posted a story with the latest from the country’s No. 2 safety prospect, Vonn Bell. The Georgia star visited Ohio State the first week of April during his spring break. Bell said of the visits he has taken recently, Ohio State was his favorite trip.

Today is of course the Buckeyes’ spring game and Meyer and his staff will welcome in a super group of prospects. On Friday I looked at who will be in attendance and may commit to the Buckeyes.

It was another very busy week for Buckeye recruiting and another very busy week here at Bucknuts.com. That is not going to change as there will be plenty of recruiting news coming out of today’s Ohio State spring game.
