The 6-foot-3 and 195-pound Trubisky had an excellent sophomore season. He threw for 1,218 yards and nine touchdowns while also scoring twice himself.

Urban Meyer continues his relentless recruiting. Quarterback Mitch Trubisky attended the Buckeyes’ junior day on Sunday and went home with an Ohio State scholarship offer.

I think especially with QB's the brains are an important but often overlooked asset - kid's got a lot of physical talent but a 4.0 GPA could mean a lot on the field too.

Now I'm a little concerned that UFM is just throwing offers out there like some lower tiered schools do to try and make sure they fill their class with decent kids.
We shouldn't be settling for decent. We should be selecting from the best. Too many offers out to QBs and RBs at this point. We're going to end up missing out on some superior talent because of this shotgun approach to recruiting.

From what I have heard is Urban's offers might have a time limit on them, So just because an offer is out now does not mean it will be there in say December if the prospect doesn't bite. If Urban wants this kid than I want him as well. Seems like a talented versatile QB and a quality prospect on and off the field.

I would say over 3500 passing and over 40 TDs in D1 in ohio is more than decent. Dont be too closed minded about this..Kellen Moore was a great QB and he wasnt a greatly rated player coming from HS and how did that turn out? I like Urban for keeping an open mind.

Jengenglish who do u trust UFM or Tommy Luginbill?? I mean this kids highlights r great. We know what kind of competition he is facing and he has all of the measurables. I think we take 2 QBs in this class, not counting Jalin.

Is there anyway to win with Buckeye fans? Jesus Christ. Do you guys remember a coach by the name of Jim Bollman that didn't offer anyone and didn't recruit anyone? You should be welcoming this with open arms.

I'm not saying this kid isn't worthy of an offer, at some point. I really don't know anything about him now. But it seems like were doing what Dick Rod did putting out a dozen or more offers hoping to land one or two.
We made fun of Dick Rod for it, now we're making excuses for UFM offering 10 good to great prospects and basically taking the one who's willing to verbal right away.
We could end up with a very respectable class with this approach and could very easily have the best class in the B1G so long as we're only offering guys who should be in the top 25 at their position nationally, but we could also be limited by numbers on many positions and have to pass on guys who are top 5 nationally at their position. Given the success this staff had over the last 2 months, I think we could be more selective.

They're making some unexpected moves, but trust the coaches. The coaches look at how these kids fit into their system, not the starts on Rivals or 247. I still cant believe the staff is higher on this kid than Chapman. I think we may take 2 QB's in this class

Well I guess we just got to trust Urban.He must like this kid a lot to offer him right away. We'll just have to wait and see what plays out

I would say this QB wouldnt be bad in CM offense he had over 600 yards rushing so he can run. I wonder if Tom Herman is playing more of a role in the QB recruiting than we might think??

Duane, this highlight film doesn't look that bad. He had some wheels and some accurate ass passes. We know his comp is good. I think he's cool, need a lot of throw motion tweaking but he didn't look bad.
