Dunn Deal To OSU? Well…

Bri'onte Dunn

Brionte Dunn: "I’m still thinking about stuff."

Brionte Dunn was at the OSU-Wisconsin game. Did the big Buckeye victory seal the deal? Well, as Lee Corso likes to say, "Not so fast..."

    • Bill, why did OSU stop recruiting the Shell kid from PA if there is a chance Dunn might back out? Seems like a risky prop taking Ball as our only RB in this class.

    • Kind of still an OSU commit?!?!?! *slamming head on desk*

      Big Beef Co

    • after watching our running backs we could really use him

    • Not a ringing endorsement... When Michigan beat ND, seems like everyone was slobbering over them.

    • If he wants to make those comments after that type of game, fine. Be gone Dunn. I'll take Ball all day.

    • Last night's 'shoe' was one of the best i've ever seen. Considering the environment, the outcome & the presence of so many potential future teammates; dunn's comments speak of selfishness. Seems like he has a me first attitude. That type of player has plagued this program & is the reason we are under sanctions right now

    • Still hope he becomes a Buckeye, but not the end of the world he he chooses to take his talents elsewhere.

I wouldn't say he sounds selfish, sounds to me like he just wants to make sure he picks the right school. Football isn't the only reason why you pick a school. I know as fans, we want the top players at OSU but I don't see anything wrong with taking time to make the right decision. Afterall, this is his life we're talking about, not ours. If it was me, I'd do the same thing. Why not check out all the options before settling on 1? If it were a job situation we'd all do it. He'll be a Buckeye most likely but if not, oh well!

Let the kid ponder and make his mind when he gets ready. I don't think he is a slam dunk anyway considering all the carries he has already had. I just want him for depth and competition to the other guys. I still believe Hyde and Smith will be fine, throw in Ball and we would be ok without him. If you can throw in Green for 2013 that would be even better.

Maybe he is thinking about the crowded backfield next year with Hall, Hyde, Smith, Berry(?) and Ball. He's a player for sure but someone might be asked to redshirt, who knows. My guess is that he is keeping his options open in case he doesn't like the coaching situation next year. I think after the NCAA makes its determination, everything else will sort itself out. But you can't blame the guy for looking out for his best interests at this point, afterall he doesn't owe the Buckeyes a thing right now.

    • How could anyone say this after that game?

    • I agree with everything "Getya..." said except for on thing. Do your pondering and courting BEFORE you make a verbal commitment. This way it is rather like committing to the prettiest girl in the class and then sending out notes to other girls saying you are "kinda," available. Just doesn't seem the respectful thing to do.

Funny how insecure the fans seem to be about a kid wanting to take his time and make the best decision - yes, for himself. JT used to tell kids to take their time and make other visits, so I'm not sure why the vitriol toward this kid. If he's destined to be @ OSU, then he will be.

We are still going after Garmon who could be a RB

Well, didn't Dunn "commit" when JT was the HC? Kid has every right and reason to shop around at this point.

    • Dunn over Ball! I think Dunn has got Heisman all over him!!!

I would not be so quick to judge the kid harshly for wanting to make sure of his decision. In the best of years we have kids who take their time and this is far from the best of years. Until the NCAA decision is known and our head coaching situation is resolved he is wise to keep his options open.

    • Hopefully his official visit to Michigan is when we're there, and we put a beating on scUM once again.

He's a kid we'd love to have, but the world will go on if he decommits. We'll be just fine. I think we all know the future is bright with all the true freshman that played a big role last night.

I hope he joins us, but let's leave him alone, not question his courage or selflessness or anything like that.

    • I just don't want Dunn going to Michigan. If he chooses not to stay with his commitment to us, just not make it the team up North...

    • Dear Mr. Dunn,
The shelf life of a RB is very, very short. With your 30-40 carries a game your getting in HS and the very realistic chance at early and lots of PT at Michigan or Penn State your pro career could be very short (less money to be maid). AT TOSU you could get minimal playing time your first and second year, shine for the next year or 2 and then go Pro (if good enough) and your body (and wallet) will thank you!

    • I am so tired of this.

I am sure that he is tired of answering questions about it too.

Brionte, answer the question directly. Are you coming to OSU?....ans: Yes, and don't ask me again

We have spent so much time talking about this kid and whether he was going to flip.
