FR Radio: 'We're Still Ohio State'

Hey, now that's more like it. Ohio State is fresh off a big victory and we're jam-packed on today's version of Front Row Radio. Today's show includes:

Braxton Miller

Braxton Miller

* An interview with Braxton Miller's former high school coach -- Jay Minton from Huber Heights Wayne -- who gives unique insight on Miller. Minton breaks down Miller's game as a passer and answers whether Buckeye fans should be concerned with Miller's passing skills.

* An interview with offensive line prospect Alex Kozan from Colorado. Michigan recently stepped up with a scholarship offer. What is Kozan hearing from OSU? He gives the latest.

* We also have the debut of our new "Buckeye Rapid Fire" segment where we pass along the most-interesting post-game comments from OSU players. Today you'll hear from Miller, Boom Herron and Jake Stoneburner.

    • How do we not offer Kozan? I'm totally lost on this. Great character, great attitude, intelligent kid, a bulldog on the line, and a HUGE position of need. I just don't understand it.

Kozan has family who are OSU alum, it's not his fault he lives in Colorado. This sends a terrible message to OOS recruits. At this point it's a rub! We'd be lucky to get this kid under the best of circumstances and he's stood by us through all the bs and still no offer. Dave please tell him if you ever talk to him again that we want him at OSU. This kid had 13 pancakes in one game. Our current OL don't even know what a pancake is, or they don't demonstrate it on the field very often. Kozan is an excellent young man, and he's much better than Underwood, Brown, or Carter. They didn't have offers from LSU, Oregon, Oklahoma St, Iowa, Arkansas, South Carolina, Michigan, and Auburn. This kid is ranked 19 in the country as a guard, you don't pass on him if he want's to be a Buckeye, especially now, if just for a numbers, he's better than all the other interior players on our roster. He's a really high character kid and he deserves to be developed at the next level. We'd be lucky to have him.

I'm embarrassed by Jim Bollman's slow courtship of this kid especially after the early offers to the 3 guards last year.

    • I must say if/when we offer Kozan and he tells us to stick our schollie up our ass , I will say I wont be a bit mad at him. This is a joke not to offer this kid.

    • We did this crap a couple of years ago and ended up only getting Norwell.
Henderson went to Miame via USC
      James decided on ND,
Moses gave up and went to VIrginia.

Make the offer. If anyone wants to come to TOSU afer that bring themn in. We can handle 2 more OLs./

    • RE Kozan: There's usually a logical reason for everything. The Bucknuts staff owes us the answer via asking the pointed questions of the coaching staff ..... heck, 90% won't be around next year so why shouldn't they tell the truth.

    • My request of the staff is to skewer Bollman until he either croaks or gives us the goods on why this kid has no offer.

Jim Bollman gave us Evan Blankenship. He can leave us with Mr. Kozan. A fair trade.

Steve-o. DBidds. Hell, get that junkyard dog Ramz on this!!!!

Complete agreement with this point. Fickell has inherited a bunch of problems over which he has no control, but he has been watching the offensive line situation for years and is now charged with overseeing it. This has been his responsibility for months and he is not taking a leadership role.

      clap

Bingo. The Fickell "give him a chance" apologist dont understand it is not just on the field issues in regards why we want Meyer.

If your a head coach @tOSU day one you walk over to bolls and say "are we trying to NOT have another spring game because your ass can't recruit, FIX IT and offer kozan and davidson today!"

    • I hope they offer Kozan this week. I will have to go watch him play down in the Springs this week. He sounds intellegent and from the clips I have seen he is pretty dominate.

Kozan had 13 pancakes in one game as a LT in HS this season. The fact that he's keeping the pancake stat to me shows that he's a real Buckeye and wants to be a part of bringing great OL play back to OSU.
