FRR: Is 12-0 'Probable' Now?

So you're telling me there's a chance!

Ohio State Buckeyes

No, I'm telling you there's a very good chance.

Ohio State still has a lot of work ahead of it, but three-quarters of the way through the season, the Buckeyes are sitting at 9-0. We review the 35-23 win at Penn State, examine whether 12-0 is "likely" at this point and much more during our News segment.

We also give injury updates ... and for a change Ohio State players are not mentioned. Wisconsin redshirt freshman quarterback Joel Stave suffered a season-ending injury (collarbone) over the weekend, and Michigan senior QB Denard Robinson went down with nerve damage in his right (throwing) elbow for the second time in three games.

Steve Helwagen, who was at Penn State Saturday night, also provides three short post-game interviews with defensive coordinator Luke Fickell, DE/OLB Nate Williams and DE John Simon.

    • I think we run the table the rest of the way. Whisky QB down and who knows about scUM Denard's arm.

Even with both back the Bucks get it done. They believe now that they can and it would be an unbelievable job from last Season.

I apologize that one of our "Loyal 8" had to wait for their FRR fix!

    • Ah man, I'm still nervous, but I think they'll do it. My stomach won't be able to handle losing to Wisconsin or Michigan, so they sure as hell better do it, but it won't be easy. Wisconsin and Michigan will bring their "A" games against us. I have no doubt we'll bring our "A" game against Mich, but I hope we come ready to play in Madison. For some reason, we always struggle there. Even when we pull out a win (2002, 2008) it goes down to the wire. So, we can definitely expect a tight game in Madison, even with Danny "He Stinks" O'Brien at QB. Montee Ball looks like his old self. Then again, Wisconsin's offensive strengths play right into our defense's strength (stopping the run, not a spread offense).

I would say, YES, 12-0 is "probable" right now. But I won't rest easy until it's "definite" and in the books.

I would like to think that you are.

And one important thing to keep in mind: Much like how the Big Ten has more than 10 teams, we like to think that FRR actually does have more than eight loyal listeners. (Do I hear 9? Nine? Does anyone have 9?)

    • I purchased my Nov. 24th team up north tickets 4 weeks ago and my value on the dollar has risen as well as my interest to be there. I would like to say how impressed I was by the participation of the home crowd in Happy Valley. It was the most impressive scene in college football I have seen in 45+ years of watching sports. It just gave me the impression that everyone was involved in every aspect of being the ultimate spectator. I have been in Ohio Stadium and part of some very intense crowds. But would love to see a full game similar in magnitude to what we witnessed in last Saturdays "White Out'... Go Bucks!

I always wondered about alpha, thanks for letting us know.

    • One of the french benifits of going 12-0, it will put the heat back on that incompetent fool of an AD.

They will have to trot out the "The NCAA was going to give us a bowl ban either way" cannard.
Hopefully, some investigation will be done to prove this as BS.

That semi-literate AD thought going to a bowl game last year was "important to the seniors".
      Yea right.
Nobody, fans included wanted to go.

I posit this line of reasoning is total crap and Gee is covering for a huge tactical error made by Jackie Chiles and his mis-calcualtion of the "Sweet Spot".

    • Good FRR today. Wasn't feeling terribly well, and on those days, FRR is a nice diversion. Listening to Dave and the gang is infinitely better than dealing with the VA over the latest bureaucratic screwup (note: the VA is a national asset that we veterans have that few in other countries enjoy, but sure doesn't make it easier to navigate their system). Rant over....

    • Just edited the thread title to add another interesting topic IMO that we discussed on the show: Did Meyer wrap up Big Ten Coach of the Year with the win over Penn State? Am I still pissed that Jim Tressel never won B1G COY, even in 2002? You know I am.

I look forward to FRR every week, Just may not post about it as often as others.

megaphoneI hope we don't look past Illinois. We have a way of losing to them when we shouldn't.

Michigan has a good defense as does Wisconsin. Which ever team makes the least mistakes could be the winner of either game. They both are a better team than Purdue and Indiana. The team is looking up this week. I pray it continues. Would love the Buckeyes to be 12-0!!!

High Bar set by Tress and voters in the past.....don't know that we can say we surpassed their lofty expectations....but i'm sure some other coach in the BIG has....please BIG show us the COY and make it interesting.....lol
