Conley could play either cornerback or wide receiver for the Buckeyes.
Defensive back/wide receiver Gareon Conley (Massillon, Ohio/Washington) has committed to Ohio State over Michigan. The former Wolverine commitment is completing his official visit to Ohio State, but according to Massillon Washington coach Jason Hall, Conley is a Buckeye.
"Yes, it's true!" Conley's mother Angel confirmed in a text. "(He did it) at lunch with coach (Urban) Meyer."
Conley had to make his Ohio State official visit a mid-week visit because he takes the ACT on Saturday and has a basketball game that night.
The 6-foot-1 and 170-pound cornerback made 26 tackles and intercepted four passes during his junior season. He helped lead the Tigers into the playoffs this season playing both cornerback and wide receiver, and returns punts. Conley had 40 plus receptions for over 900 yards. On defense he had one interception.
Conley is commitment No. 18 for an Ohio State recruiting class that is expected to number at least 22 come National Signing Day.
Conley is a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports rankings. He is the country’s No. 225 prospect, the No. 16 cornerback and the No. 13 prospect in Ohio.
