Introducing: 247Composite

Introducing: 247Composite

Ohio State Buckeyes

The 247 Sports Network came out with a new innovation early Monday. They are calling it 247Composite.

The 247 network will continue to rank high school prospects. However, in a side-by-side comparison it will also supply the most updated composite ranking of each player based on how the major national recruiting sites rank that player.

(For an example, click here for a look at OSU verbal Joey Bosa’s database page with the 247 network and 247 Composite rankings listed side by side.)

Each player is given a statistical ranking. A 1.0 ranking would indicate that player is ranked as the nation’s No. 1 prospect by all services in the survey. The closest to 1.0 a player is ranked, the higher that player is considered.

The 247 Network is then taking all of the composite rankings and using those as the basis for its updated recruiting class team rankings. The hope is that the 247Composite Rating will be the industry's most comprehensive and unbiased prospect ranking.

As a result of this change, Ohio State now has the nation’s No. 5-ranked recruiting class. USC, which has been on a real roll of late, checks in at No. 1 with Michigan second, Alabama third and Florida fourth. The next highest Big Ten team is Penn State at No. 23.

Please let us know what you think of this revolutionary change to our recruiting player and team ranking system.
