Miller: ‘It’ll Be Crazy’

Braxton Miller meets with the media after Wednesday

Braxton Miller talks about the atmosphere he expects for the Nebraska game, his health status, Michigan State playing William Gholston after getting knocked out and much more.

    • Im suprised the gholston story has not caught fire and spread, especilally with the emphasis in the game right now on concussions and head injuries.

    • My thinking as well. Can't believe it's not a bigger story. Any reports on his status for this week? Is Gholston a "probable" for bruised ribs...he only got the wind knocked our of him, right???

    • It's because no one cares about Michigan state

    • Claasy response by Brax when asked about Gholston. As opposed to classless putting him back in the game!

    • Yeah, you can bet if Urban Meyer/Ohio State had allowed an obviously-concussed player to come back in the game, Meyer would have been raked over the coals.

Also, trust me when I tell you this: There are less "OSU homers" in the local media than at any other Big Ten school IMO. Everyone that covers MSU is a Spartan homer. That's not the case with OSU. Most of the guys are indifferent at best. So, the MSU writers not saying a word about it also contributed to the story not getting much (if any) pub.

ABC was also a major fail in all this. Herbie and Brent talk for 2 straight minutes about Gholston getting knocked out. Then when Heather Cox gives the BS sideline report (not her fault, just reporting what she was told), Herbie and Brent take her at face value! Not one of them says "Wind knocked out? Sure didn't look that way." They just move on like nothing happened. And they obviously knew Gholston had been knocked out because they talked about it extensively just prior to getting the sideline report. Amazing that they just ignored it when Gholston came back in the game. If Herbie/Brent would have made even somewhat of a big deal about it, it would have gone viral IMO.

    • I hope Urb pushes the big ten for nighttime November games. What a recruiting tool ,hey we don't play at night here. Kids like prime time & they r used to playing at night . I believe it puts our conference in a bad spot not being able to have night games in November when weather could be interesting . It can't help recruiting

    • Even Braxton knows he was knocked out cold. What a joke.

    • I have added video of Miller's comments from Wed night to original story:

    • Dave...Maybe it is a study in sematics..
Maybe MSU medical staff interpreted that "Gholston had the wind knocked out of his head"..

    • Didn't Miller's 3rd Q "fumble" -- actually a great strip by a Nebraska defender -- occur the series before his injury that brought in Bauserman? Trivial point what with the way things finished, but don't recall the turn-over happening the same play as Miller's game ending injury...

    • That was a freaky play Braxton Miller has Heart what a great fearless leader he is. Its an honor to watch him play and really watch him improve as a QB ITS GOING TO BE SOMTHING VERY SPECIAL. I RESLLY WSNT TO SEE HIM GET IT ALL IN HIS STAY THERE .... ALL AMERICAN, HEISMON, AND MOST OF ALL NATIONAL CHAMP

    • “They man up on a couple of guys outside, so we’ve got to take advantage of it.”

Play-action kicked our butts last weekend against Wisconsin. If Ohio State can get the ground game going early and get the secondary to cheat a bit, Miller can capitalize down-field. Another major target for the Buckeyes should be creating man-to-man coverage between a slot receiver or running back up against our linebackers. They're not huge guys, but they're not quick either. Motioning across did UCLA and Wisconsin a lot of good because we had to adjust and a LB would end up in coverage on a 185lb guy. That mismatch has killed us. I'd bet good money you see Urban take advantage.

I've never seen anyone shake their head as they walked off the field (repeatedly) due to getting the wind knocked out of him. He clearly got something knocked out of him, but it surely was NOT the wind!

If Brax gets injured again, I am glad we have Kenny G to back him up. Bauserman was an effing joke. I've never seen a team come to a complete standstill after an injury like that more than when Bauserman was in for Braxton.

Is there a rule that there is no night time games in Nov due to the weather?

    • Why the obsession with Gholston by so many on this site? Definitely seems like a poor decision to put him back in. But I don't understand why Buckeye fans need to care so much. They have revealed their character and will reap what they have sown. Didn't affect me. The people that need to be concerned about this behavior will be (i.e. players, recruits, etc.).

If that has to be explained to you , you are not much of a football fan.

However. You never put a player back into a game after being knocked out. There is no way to tell if they have sustained a life threatning injury, paralysis danger, that would be exacerbated if they took another hit .

If that was my son and they put him back in the game like that I would be furious. This was a completely classless move by MSU.

They put a game ahead of a young mans well being and future.

Haha. Yes, that must be it. See, I knew Dino wouldn't lie.
