Jones is ranked by 247Composite as the nation's No. 2 offensive guard and No. 47 prospect overall.

Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville Top100 offensive lineman Marcelys Jones is a Buckeye.

"Just verbal committed to Ohio State," Jones tweeted.

247Sports has also confirmed the news with a source close to the situation.

The 6-foot-5, 325-pound Jones is the first pledge for the Buckeyes in the class-of-2014. He is ranked by 247Composite as the nation's No. 2 offensive guard and No. 47 prospect overall.

The Glenville program has typically been good to Ohio State over the years, sending over several talents including Ted Ginn Jr., Christian Bryant, Marcus Hall and Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith. The Buckeyes are currently in good shape to land a couple more Tarblooders standouts in senior four-star athlete Christopher Worley and blue-chip junior athlete Marshon Lattimore.

Besides Ohio State, Jones had an early offer from Indiana and was hearing from many of the nation's top programs from coast to coast.

With Jones in the fold, I think Ohio State aims to take one more in-state OL in 2014. Perhaps Kyle Trout or Nick Richardson. We'll see what develops.

That is a good question because he is a position where we are still going after players yet he is a top national talent...I would guess that if he HAD to commit today he would be able to but it seems like the staff would prefer if he waited till Feb.
