Lewis will be making his second visit to Ohio State in just over a month

Buckeye defensive end/linebacker target Tyquan Lewis will attend Friday Night Lights at Ohio State. Will Lewis be a Buckeye by the end of this weekend?

I like Lewis but I would prefer Mitchell. Could be wrong but I don't think we have room for both.

We have room for both.
Think about it. We had LBer commitments from Lewis Neal and Alex Anzalone and haven't replaced those with anyone yet.

I agree with you but I would never knock a guy for wanting to stay closer to home. He is a good kid and I wish him the best wherever he goes. P.S. I live in Raleigh and I don't hear a lot about him in our papers . . .which is strange.

I would really like OSU to add Lewis to this year's class, but I just don't see it. I also believe he stays @ home and heads to UNC. Hopefully I'm wrong though.
Still the prize remains the myterious Mike Mitchell!

i like mitchell, but his film doesn't impress me. he's very athletic with the 40 time, vertical jump, etc...just doesn't look very fluid. seems pretty herky-jerky, which is fine, as long as he gets the job done. i think lewis has more up-side and would rather have him of the two. of course, i'm fine with taking both...

I posit NC would be the choice if it were not for the sanctions that loom.
Young Mr. Lewis certainly must factor those in, and it is an unknown right now.
My sense is the longer his recruitment drags out the worse our chances become.

I also think that the fact he is bringing his mother to campus means he is very seriously considering OSU. Now Mother may want him to stay closer to home and he may be trying to "sell" her on OSU being the right place, but I don't think he would be bringing her if he did not favor the Bucks.

I think the NCAA sanctions are pretty much final but the local media is continuing to put heat on UNC for the massive academic fraud in the African American Studies program . . .primarily involved football players. This may result in the UNC Chancellor being removed as he tried to soft sell the whole issue. I also agree about the mother coming along being a positive indication.

I feel this needs to be clarified, since there are many misconceptions out there. Currently, UNC is not in any more trouble. The news about Hakeem Nicks is not new news. He was included in the original NCAA sanctions but his name was redacted (much like Terrelle Pryor's name was redacted from Ohio State's). UNC has NOT committed any new violations since their NCAA sanctions came down. The current chatter in the media about academic fraud, is still the same academic fraud that UNC was already penalized for. It is just being rehashed in the media as if it is some new finding.
For those of you that question everyone and want sources...I live in North Carolina and I have close relationships with several members of the UNC Athletic Department. I asked one of them if the academic fraud news that's been talked about in the media is new or if it is the same academic fraud situation that UNC was already penalized for, and they confirmed that it is nothing new. UNC is not going to be hit with more penalties. This is a slow time for the media and they are trying to fill up newspaper columns and radio air time until football season starts again and they actually have something new to report on.

If he leaves C-bus without committing I think he wont be a Buckeye! Seems like lately the kids that drag on the process after their visit to check out other schools seem to go elsewhere.

I sat right next to Lewis and his mother for a great portion of the night. She didn't seem overly thrilled to be there but she had been watching a football camp for 3 hours. Tyquan didn't go down on the field with the other recruits at all. He stayed in the stands with his mom. I kind of felt like he was an outsider looking in when I wish he would have been down on the field getting the juices flowing. He was itching to get out there you could tell but didnt want to leave his mom by herself. He yelled for Pantoni at the end of the camp when all the recruits that weren't participating were going down to hear the final speeches but Pantoni didn't hear him and went about his business.
I walked by and said "go ahead and pull the trigger Tyquan!" and he threw his arms up and said "I don't know man". It wasn't a glowing reaction but I did what I could.
