curious where the #58 ranking comes from?

Jeff Sagarin, who has historically been rough on the Buckeyes, had them ranked at #13 in his final rankings here, FWIW:

If you took the rankings I calculated above and applied Sagarin's final SOS ratings (ranking points * SOS rating), the results are even worse.

For example, Ohio State's final (AP) ranking was #3, so use 23 points and their final SOS rating (Sagarin) was 85.37. 23 * 85.37 = 19.63 or 20.

Without tOSU, the B1G would have been a total of 9 points, and only better than the Big East, MWC and MAC. The WAC would have better conference rankings, for goodness sake.

It's pitiful (see below).
