Awesome news! Welcome aboard big fella.
And the obsession with stars is ridiculous. I think its all because we have Meyer now, which makes some fans have the notion that only 4 and 5 star recruits are the only option.
I get excited when we get a 5 star recruit. I also get very excited watching someone fly under the radar, and totally prove people wrong; especially when they play defense for the Buckeyes.
I use my Gold standard for those type of players as none other than AJ Hawk. Dude ate nails and was so pissed at the world. he turned out quite alright for us.

The closest that I will ever get to a Buckeye ring or Gold Pants. Saw it sold on e-bay April 29, 2011 for $8500.

A 3 star player in Ohio would be a 4 star in an east coast state. JMHO.

Too funny! Just went through the exact same process myself. As long as it has no bearing on the other elite big fish we're trying to reel in on the DL then it sounds like a good not great pickup. His potential sounds like it has a very high ceiling and of course...he's an O-H-I-O kid!!!

I see Tracy doing big thing at tosu I see a big guy that can move. He can play in or out but if were me I would put him in the middle his size and speed over center would give offence of line hell if you rubble him you leave the out open for one on one with our d ends unstoppable great pick that's what I say go bucks. Ratings are over rated!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, Kind of taken aback my some of the negativity....I for one am trusting that Coach Urban Meyer, 2-Time National Champion Coach, Comma, 1-Each.... knows a little more about talent and recruiting than anyone else on this site? Hmmm????

There are 5* can't miss prospects and then there is everyone else.
We would like to land a class full of Adrian Peterson's and Jadaveon Clowneys, but in all reality you get 3-4 cant miss guys per class (if you are lucky). At this point, I am glad to see an early offer guy commit.
If the staff is accepting a commit from this kid 10 months before signing day they must really like it, particularly when they are in on so many other highly rated prospects. This absolutely does not feel like a desperation recruit. A desperation recruit is really the only thing the staff would do that would piss me off.
