Barkeley's comments were not only sexist (comparing Big Ten BB to an ugly Homecoming Queen) but quite bluntly stupid. Yes, the Big East has some good Teams and is the only real competition the Big Ten has for top status in Men's BB. But, the best Teams in the Big East play a similar brand of BB as the best Teams in the Big Ten - Defense first. Barkeley, I guess, called all the Big Ten Teams "ugly girls" because many Big Ten teams play tough Defense first and foremost.

Furthermore, no Team in the Big East has a point Guard comparable to either Craft, Burke or Scott. And, no Big East Team has a big Man who could handle either Zeller, Nix or Bergerron. There is no team in the country that is more athletic or better (as a Team) defensively than OSU. Finally, Indiana, although I detest their Coach's behavior, has the best talent in the country. That's not ugly, biased or sexist Charles, that is just factual.

Seth Davis also needs to work on his professionalism. Nothing wrong with expressing an opinion that he feels Big Ten teams are overrated. But, you should only express an opinion that is based upon fact. Gonzaga played no one of substance this year other than Illinois, and they lost to Illinois - perhaps the 6th best Team in the Big Ten with 9 or 10 losses to Big Ten teams. Ohio State has lost 7 games this year. Five to Big ten Teams and the other two to Duke and Kansas (which are #2 and #1 seeds, respectively). It is possible that no Big Ten Team will make it to the final four. It is also possible that 4 Big Ten Teams could make the final four. Mr. Davis had better hope for the former, because he will not survive the onslaught of criticism if it is the latter.

Seth Davis hates Ohio State. It is no big surprise. Frankly, Barkley has no business on television expressing his views. Indiana can be beaten and the blueprint is pretty much set. In terms of Indiana having more talent than everyone else in the Big Ten that is complete garbage. Indiana plays six guys who cannot take physical contact and the refs give Indiana aka Flopiana gets all the calls. Look at Ohio State, they get mugged all the time and no fouls are ever called on the other team unless it is so egregrious in nature like the Nix foul on Craft. If that is true they would have cruised to the Big Ten Tournament without any difficulty. Dayton has not been a great place for the Buckeyes to play under Matta in the tournament. I hope the Buckeyes advance. I just hope Ohio State gets out of Dayton.
