Analysis: Impact Of Klein Arrest

  • NOxplode994 said...

If he does get kicked off the team, does he becomes a target for these sports writers looking to destroy this program banghead

Nobody's looking to destroy the program. I get awful tired of this persecution complex we have at OSU. Every punishment and bad piece of press we've received has been backed up by facts. Nobody's making things up, they're reporting facts.

He was also arrested for assault......so there had to be evidence that he hit her.......

Regardless when hes found guilty...hes history.

Don;t have to lay a hand on anyone to get charged with assault.

All I can say is....really?? fucking seriously!? After all the bullshit that has surronded this program the past two years....To even put yourself in a position like this just shows that you have absolutely no care for your school, teamates or yourself. This is inexcusible....Urb has no choice...

He wasnt going to play anyways....boot his stupid ass off the team.

You know, all a woman has to say is the magic words, "I am fearfull of him" and you get carted off to jail no ifs ands or butts about it. You don't have to do nothing.

We don't know what happened so lets just be cool before we all pop the cork and look like a fool later when it all gets dropped.

Gonna share a story of mine.

Bout 10 years ago I was living in Bellevue Nebraska with my wife and daughter. We had been married for...oh about 4 years and my wife and I fought like cats and dogs. Nothing physical but we just screamed at each other and did some name calling. The marriage was going through growing pains suffice to say.

One morning my wife and I got into it over something....can't remember what it was....but I was getting a cup of coffee at the time and she said something to me an I knew what a neat freak she was...I'm talking total OCD. So I look at her right in the eye and ask her if she would like some coffee. Before she could answer I empty my cup right onto the floor. Her mouth just fell open in shock. I then asked her if she would like some cream and sugar with her coffee. I then proceeded to dump containers of creamer and some sugar into the already spreading pool of coffee on the kitchen floor. Then she just popped her top and started to come at me screaming and finger pointing me in the chest. Don't remember what she said but I do remember thinking it was funny. However she was crossing my mess on the floor to get to me. I grabbed her with my hands by placing them on the outside of her shoulder so she wouldn't slip. And I confess that I sort of held her in place when I grabbed her.....sort of a symbol of taking away her control. Something snapped. She pushed off me and said something about it being on. She called the police and when she described what happened......didn't matter what she did. Cops don't give a shit what the woman did or said. She was equally at fault. But I grabbed her.....even though it was for her own safety.....and I spent a night in jail. Domestic violence and assault.

Still married by the way. Same woman. We hardly ever fight and when we do it is never like that anymore. Just saying assault isn't always battery and domestic violence can have nothing to do with physical violence. If she is just scared of you and "fears for her safety"....you are going to jail.

I'm gong to lay out the football schedule for the next 5 years, show me one, just one game Ohio State fans would find acceptable to lose.

Excuse me... weren't 2 starters just arrested on a felony charge? They are getting back on the team. So this young man charged with a pair of misdemeanors should have his stupid ass kicked off the team? Urb has no choice? He had a choice with the other 2.

  • I have seen men charged with these crimes when the evidenced ultimately showed that it was the girl going ballistic on the guy and the guy was just trying to 'fight' her off or control her until he got out the door.

Agree, jumping to conclusions is way too common for both fans and media alike.

    BooBahBuckeye

  • Let's not forget this is the same dude that was questions/in trouble for being too aggressive with that girl a few years back and beat up her boyfriend. Meyer has two daughters. This dude is gone. Hes a dirt bag. He's guilty. If he hadn't had that previous run in, I would hold judgement. I only care about the girls he is hurting. He's not a good player anyway. MAC type LB.

There were no felonies. The other two were misdemeanors too.

We are both atheists. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours

The charges were reduced later to misdemeanors were they not?

  • Contrary to most, I hope this has been blown out of proportion and he is found innocent and doesn't miss a beat. I do not know about any past issues but I hope they are just rumors. If he is indeed found guilty then he needs suffer the consequences. I don't get the vile thrown at this kid though. He has worked his but off, contributed and battled some injuries. I am sure he would like to be a starter but every kid can't start. The kid is stil a Buckeye and everyone is jumping to conclusions without knowing the facts yet. I am as disapointed as anyone with the accumulation of stupid off field incidents but lets get the facts first. I am not ready to throw the kid under the bus just yet.

    LoudounVabuck

  • Careful what you say, he could be innocent. Wait until all facts come out and then don't wish bad things onto people. Everybody screws up sometime in their life. Wish him well instead of condemning him.

    wizard45

  • If he is guilty (IF!!!), he is gutless ass who proved to be much less than a man. "Real" men don't engage in domestic violence. I don't care about the impact on the team and nobody should as well. I worry more about the impact on the victim. The team will move on!

    bas

  • FWIW, a DV charge does not have to be against a woman. The statute reads as a "family or household member." Therefore, it could be a roommate. Is there any evidence of a woman being involved?

    toddg1

  • not commenting on the arrest, but from where I sit and have watched him since his freshman year on KO coverage- his tackling is really subpar for an OSU LB. Better position would be H back for him.

    bobcat84

  • The worst part about this IMHO besides the possibility of a woman being the victim of domestic violence, is the fact that in this case and the Stoney/ Mewhort fiasco that these are all upper class men. We need senior leadership and right now it's those guys that are letting us down. I know innocent until proven guilty, but obviously by some of the posts, that's not the case. I do think this will be a good teaching experience for the coaching staff w/ the younger players. I just hope these instances don't make Coach Meyer rethink his " health" .

Assault does not mean he hit anyone. If he hit someone it would be assault and Battery. Assault just means the person had apprehension of violence and no actual violence occurred. If Klein said something threatening and the person felt threatened that they would be harmed that would constitute assault. So if he was charged with assault, he did not hit anyone.

You're mistaken. Read the relevant statutory language. Ohio's assault statute requires either that a defendant knowingly cause physical harm or attempt to cause physical harm.

Very sad, assaulting a woman is the ultimate sign of weakness. Can't see how Coach Meyer keeps him on the Team. Plus our depth should make the decision less trying. Really to bad.

All the buckeye brothers judging and the facts haven't came out yet. sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
