Analysis: Impact Of Klein Arrest

  • It is really SAD that folks on this website have decided to condemn a player before a hearing has even been held. I am sure those Nancy Grace's out there ......would love to crucify Storm on TV too. SAD....I surely didn't see this type of behavior when the allegations of players involved in Tattoogate began...now did we?

The closest that I will ever get to a Buckeye ring or Gold Pants. Saw it sold on e-bay April 29, 2011 for $8500.

I will say we should be careful to cast stones until we know for sure Storm is guilty of this. We're just hearing about the arrest. There could be a lot more to the story. No question we'll find out soon enough, but it doesn't sound good right now.

    Agree.
The first to make the call to police is the one who stays home. He may have thrown a beer bottle for all we know. If he hit her, he is a POS.
Either way he is toast until he is cleared.

  • There are certain jersey numbers which should be kept "sacred" and kept for those who can embody the former players who wore them. #32 is one of the numbers because it was worn by Jack Tatum and Roland Tatum, and the other obvious number is #36 worn by Tom Cousineau and Marcus Marek. Storm may or may not be guilty of this crime, but he is guilty of not being able to come within a mile of of the talent of any of the players that I mentioned. That said, if he did this he needs to be removed and given professional help, but if he didn't do this then keep him and give him #31 or number #34.

The charges were reduced later to misdemeanors were they not?

2 things... the only reason it would be considered a 1st degreee misdemeanor is because it would be his first DV conviction, if found guilty. if someone commits it more than once, it becomes a felony, similar to a DUI. . Although even the first offense is punishable by up to 6 months and 1k in fines. Obstructing official business is a 2nd degree misdemeanor in ohio. Secondly, i hope you're not seriously trying to make it sound as though the reprimanding of peeing in public and running from the police should be handled more harshly or even comparably to (if guilty) domestic violence. See also, Derjuan Gambrell earlier this year.

Interesting. But whenever I see a jersey with a number 32, my first instinct is that it's OJ's number. I don't care if it's a scarlet, dark blue or green jersey... 32 is synonymous with Orenthal!

Nobody's looking to destroy the program. I get awful tired of this persecution complex we have at OSU. Every punishment and bad piece of press we've received has been backed up by facts. Nobody's making things up, they're reporting facts.

Agreed that everything is backed up by facts but I do find it odd that other schools such as the U and UNC have received half the press we got from ESPiN and what went on at both those schools is much worse than what our kids did. That's why our fans have this perception. It's like no other schools are having problems.

The reason why the media reports on anything related to Ohio State is because there is a nationwide audience of OSU alums and fans who follow Buckeye football like a religion. Whether it is good news or bad news, any story about Ohio State draws TV viewers and mouse clicks on the web. The same cannot be said about the "U" or UNC football.

Be careful for what you wish. If the day ever comes when ESPN is not reporting about an arrested OSU football player, then one can assume that the program has become irrelevant.

  • Kid is from the same area as I am and a lot of us follow him pretty well since there are few that go to OSU from here.

This is disappointing to say the least.

Usually if the police get called out for a domestic violence they automatically take the guy. I think a lot of people are jumping the gun. I will wait and see what happens on this one.

This is very true my son was in a bad relationship, and arrested several times, his side was very different then hers, they divorced, and he is remarried and happy for 15 years now, she has had trbl. in multiple relationships. LETS HEAR THE Story First !!!! IF TRUE THEN NAIL HIM, But Lets hear First...

  • NEVER root against any Buckeye ever, no matter what...he wanted to be a great Buckeye, it just didn't work out perfectly AND everyone makes mistakes, period!!!! I hate to see our supposed fans jumping all over players. I get they don't always play great and they make mistakes, but they chose to be Buckeyes so they are imperfect family members to me...that being said, some things do have to be considered "too much"... like cheating (and getting the school in trouble), murder, or violence against women or children. I don't like it when they do other things that make us look bad but seriously how many of us have urinated outside or got in a fight with some obnoxious dude, either way I never root against our players.

Don't forget to send Art Schlichter an Xmas card this year. As a former Buckeye great, I'm sure he'll appreciate your unconditional devotion.

Been there. I have ALL the sympathy in the world for someone whose marriage is bad. Wears a man out, no wonder on-the-field has not gone the best. The guy needs help, not a crucifixion.

This! I have also been there done that with a bad marriage and I couldn't agree more with what you are saying. Absolutely wears a man out mentally. If this is true, he needs to pay the price set forth by first the law, then Urb. After that, the young man needs to get some help and guidance from a professional.

Spiels is going to upset when he finds out he didn't make the cut for your 36 list. I won't tell him though.

Randy Homa (who later moved to the D-line and changed to No. 93) will get over not being mentioned though.

I agree that 36 should be a "special" number for the middle linebacker position at OSU.
