  • Who is so over this season that you ALMOST don't even care about this Saturday? I am sure that will change come Saturday but dang it man, between coaching changes, sanctions, and player listlessness, I feel like I have a lottery ticket I can't cash.

  • Way more excited for what happens after the season

  • A lot of people may give you crap for this post since its Michigan week but I see where you coming from.

I'm waiting for this season to end. Looking more forward to getting a resolution for the coach, recruiting and sanctions.

Season is basically over, I pretty much wrote this team off.

  • If we beat Michigan this season is salvaged IMO. I too am looking forward to the new coaching staff and the end of recruiting season.

  • I admit I am over this season. But, I REALLY care about this saturday. I just hope the team, and most especially the seniors still REALLY care about saturday. If it were not for this saturday, waiting waiting waiting for that damn NCAA ruling, and the Urban announcement, My head would be 100% BBall. But for now I am ripe with anxiety over saturday.

I can see where the original poster is coming from, but this is Michigan week! We win, it basically tells UM that we are having the worst year in the past decade and we can still beat you!

    Go Bucks!!

I think I just want closure and to be able to move on. Although I have to agree with Flbuckeyebob, ruining Mich. season would feel especially good. But unless this team manages to pull their heads out of their anus in the next 4 days I don't see it. It is one thing to get beat fair and square but something completely else when the team acts like it doesn't even want to be there.

  • I really do care about saturday, but I understand your point. At this point in time, regardless of the outcome, we are focusing on what happens after the season...coaching change, ncaa ruling, etc. That being said, I don't want Hoke to get that momentum that JT got after his first year.
I must say, though, that I left the game vs penn st disappointed but got over it very quickly, which never would have happened for an important game. Once this season was lost, I have turned my focus to the bigger picture. I will try to enjoy saturday and obviously desperately hope we win. But, even if we lose, I am looking toward the light at the end of the tunnel...just don't be a train:)

C'mon, were tOSU, and this is THE GAME!

Last time to see and root for the Bucks. Besides, "next year" will (probably) be here as soon as the game is over.

    GO BUCKS!

  • I'm having a harder time than usual getting pumped for this game because of the PSU game. It was inexcusable for the staff to allow Purdue to come in with essentially the same gameplan as 2009 and not be prepared for it, but the PSU game was frustrating beyond belief. I think OSU has far better talent across the board and should be able to control the game on both sides of the ball. But I have zero confidence that this coaching staff will put together a game plan that gives us the chance to win unless the kids are able to overcome it.

When we're on offense, scUM's defense will completely sells out to take away our tendencies. They've done it all season, and it;s their best chance at being successful. They are very well coached, but not great in talent across the board. That means they will load up the box and crash the line. If we're smart, we'll use play action or quick screens to get some easy yards. What will we do? Line up in an I and try to run up the gut. Then, instead of recognizing that scUM loading up the box is what's stuffing the run, we'll think it's just execution and move to the Wildcat to try more running plays. I would also expect them to pinch the pocket and take away running lanes for Brax. We should be passing early and often, then keeping the attack balanced.

On defense, we should put a premium on hitting Denard. I'm not as worried about Fitz popping a long run because I think putting a hurtin' on Denard is what brings their offense to a halt. I have a bad feeling that this is going to be a lot like the MNCG against Florida - we'll drop 10 yards off the ball to keep everything in front of us and scUM will move down the field 8 yards at a time. If we bring the heat, Denard will either make bad decisions or won't come close to hitting his receivers.

I just want us to come out and be aggressive. As long as this staff has been here, and with as much emphasis as JT put on this game, it should be natural. With it likely being the last regular season game for many of them, I would think they would want a showcase. Unfortunately, I don't know what could change from the last two weeks to this week that would bring it to fruition. For the third week in a row, we'll get outcoached by a staff that has no business outcoaching us. It's going to be up to the players to overcome that.

    Zonabuck

  • Hell yes I care! I might not be as emotionally invested in the current Buckeye regime as in years past, but that doesn't lessen my hatred for Michigan. Of course, it helps that my business partner is a Wolverine.

  • This has been the roughest season to suffer through that I can remember. BUT, I am still insanely pumped for this week because no matter if we were coming into this game 0-11, I WANT this game! I wait all year for this game and the bragging rights that go along with it. I know too many scUM fans to ever lose a game to those skunk weasels. We are still playing for the winning streak. We are playing to ruin their BCS at large chances. We are playing to shut those fans up from the state up north because they are obnoxiously cocky. We are still playing because it's THE Game! As tough as the last 11 months have been, adding a loss to scUM adds one more black cloud. With the optimism of what is ahead by putting the NCAA mess behind us, bringing in the Urban revival, let's get this emergence from the darkness kick started with a win in AA!!! That said, I am GREATLY looking forward to the near future and changes as well. GO BUCKS!!

  • I think the season has worn on me. I am with the O.P. I just want it over with. From loosing JT, to penelties, to loosing to Purdue and sitting at 6-5 and being just bowl eligible, its rough. I just want Meyer announced as coach and the NCAA penalties announced so we can all move on.

  • Dude...listen to yourself...This is Thee week of the season...This is the Mic***** game...I'm stoked for this weekend and hope we f***ing trounce them...GO BUCKS....be very interesting to see what happens

  • I will be rooting vey hard on Saturday but no I'm not real excited. More excited to hear who the coach is going to be. Also very concerned about NCAA ruling. All of it kinda pushes this game to the side a little bit

    Sam1

  • I'm probably more excited...and nervous...than recent years about The Game. It will be, after all, a real game this year rather than a predictable beat down. This game will make or break the season for me.

    perrine

  • Never have I been so lacking in enthusiasm for a game with UM. We are talking of a quite a few seasons.

20+ seniors who, to politely paraphrase LeCharles, don't give a damn.
    Captains, captains...anywhere a captain?
    Bollzilla...Bollogna....Boll of cereal....whatever....'nuff said
Staff of the walking dead....their jobs are toast...

A HUGE broom will be sweeping into the WHAC in soon.

Could OSU win the game? Yes.

    Are the odds good? No.

    dhillgrp

  • To paraphrase Lombardi, what the phuck is going on around here?

    This is scUM...TSUN...the phucking north-coast skunk-weasels we're talking about!

Yeah, yeah...it's sucked around here for a couple months. But that miserable 11 game "preseason" is over. So either suck it up, get your hate on and pour yourself a glass of "give a damn"...or turn in your damn fan card.

You've got weeks to wring your hands and worry about the NCAA and months after that to bite your nails in anxiety about recruiting and next season. This ain't the week for that cupcake...this is meechigan week.

If you just can't get it together without a ray of hope...I give you 1987.

In '87 we came into THE GAME off 3 straight losses (5-4-1 before the game). Bruce was fired on Monday, but allowed to run out the string in Ann Arbor. Michigan was 8-3, highly ranked and expected to kick our ass with Bo at their helm. Our guys (led by a broadcaster named Spielman) came out wearing "Earle" headbands and beat scUM in their big outhouse 23-20.

C'mon man...jack it up. This is meechigan week!

  • I understand a little of what you are saying, but I still give you a downvote for saying you don't care about this Saturday.

I'm traveling from North Carolina home and joining a group of season ticket holders at the toilet bowl for the game. We started talking smack about the game Sunday morning. I realize it is going to be harder than the last couple years.

A couple of texts I've sent my freind's way:

Has Obama done anything right? The last time you guys beat us Obama wasn't in office.

You guys haven't won in so long ESPN is starting to call the Alabama/Auburn game college football's greatest rivalry.

Your kids should get to see a UM victory over OSU sometime before they are teenagers.

    reservemickey

  • Blown away by fans these days. Truly the spoiled fan base are showing their true colors.

You better damn well believe I'll be amped for this game.

I realize people are slightly defeatist. But this is getting ridiculous.
