Has nothing to do with gun control. As a matter of fact the cities with the most strict gun control laws have the highest crime rates.

With love 83 because you are one of the best posters on here. :)

Two ex players dead and one current one in critical condition, and three others shot.
    Reportedly over a girl.
Tragic, gun control needs stepped up.

Seriously? Do you think these animals were law abiding, constitution respecting gun advocates? Nope gang bangers don't respect life or laws Why would gun control change the outcome for these thugs? Liberals always try to make poor individual choices a social issue instead of a cultural deficiency. Too bad this neighborhood didn't have a neighborhood watch.

That's not necessarily cause and effect. My guess is that those cities already had high murder rates and tried to make gun laws to curb the problem. I'd be surprised to see a relatively peaceful city that introduces tight restrictions on gun ownership and sees their crime rates increase dramatically.

I think gun supporters have very little evidence that owning a gun for self-defense actually increases their safety. In fact, statistically your gun is more likely to kill yourself or your children than it is to kill an intruder. Gun ownership supporters will say that criminals will get their guns either way, and that's probably true. While having tight restrictions on gun ownership wouldn't stop professional criminals, I think it would cut down on domestic violence situations where someone gets drunk or angry and has a weapon in the home they can pick up at the spur of the moment.

  • very sad stuff....probably find a way to blame UFM honestly. " If only Urban Meyer would have controlled his Florida Players better they could have set an example for everyone else"

But in all seriousness this is a terrible tragedy, thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims

As far as me being a sheep there are rifles, shotguns and handguns in my home. Also I'm willing and able to use them if the situation warrants it.

You can argue causation or coloration all you want on this and not know the answer. Most countries have search and seizure laws that would piss off most Americans. If you gave the police the right to enter your car and property at will it would keep crime down.

States with favorable concealed carry laws have lower rates of crime than states with restrictive concealed carry laws. Overall, the homicide rate for states with favorable carry laws is 31% lower, and the robbery rate is 36% lower, than for states with restrictive concealed carry laws. States which have recently changed their laws have experienced reductions in homicide rates. Since 1987, when Florida enacted a favorable CCW law, its homicide rate has dropped 22%, even while the national rate has risen 15%. Only .007% of Florida CCW permits have been revoked because of a crime after licensure.

I am all for limiting some of the weapons out there but the unintended consequences of gun bans could be frightening.

Police the right to search at will? You are not really advocating that are you? This is not nazi germany or the ussr under Stalin. Let's take away our right to bear arms and give law enforcement the freedom to turn this country into a police state. Next we will be deploying our military on U.S. soil against our own citizens for the first time since the civil war. Oh wait, this so called liberal administration is on the brink of doing this with the civilian drone program.
Americans need to wake up before the freedoms of our forefathers are gone.

No the exact opposite. I am saying that if you want to keep crime low by giving up rights where do you stop? Many counties don't allow the liberties that we have And their crime rate may be lower but the cost is also high. Also, many industrial countries don't allow consistent and accurate reporting of stats.
