Bax breaks down the recruiting efforts of Ohio State and Michigan as the rest of the conference watches with envy ...
The People's Champion
Great info as always Max! Thank you.
Wow good breakdown. I tend to put more stock in the top end players not the number of recruits but good break down.
Hail Hail to MeatChicken the Cesspool of the World!
Nice breakdown!!!!! great stuff!!!!
Good write up, but disagree on Nebraska. Nebraska has around 14 spots and has been very selective.
Aundrus Peat the #1 OL in the country is a lock with his stud brother being there, DT Valentine will end up at Nebraska and they are about to steal a good LB from LSU.
Their one LB commit was the flat out best LB at the San Antonio all star game.
They had to solid back to back class in 2010/11 and are young with very few spots, Nebraska will close strong with small numbers, those results are deceiving.
Aundrus Peat with 5 star OL Moore out of Florida recently is as good as it gets with OL as young anchors, Peat's DT brother, McMullen and Valentine add great DT depth to a stout DL as it is.
It is really pathetic when you think about it. When you have schools like Louisville, Kentucky and Maryland out recruiting teams like Wisconsin, MSU, and Iowa, it is not a good sign for the future of the B1G. I like the path for tOSU and BCS bowl games don't get me wrong....but we need a strong conference too.

Max, great breakdown and a fun read. You hit on all points...especially when it came to team blue's "great" year and all the stars lining up for them. The one thing you did mention but didn't really go into is that w/out Ohio, Michigan football is below average....9 Ohio kids go up north. Out of the 9 Kalis and Bolden are keepers. The other 7....stretching it. I look forward to more of your reads
Excellent read! I agree about Michigan's dream season. If they think they'll keep having years like this they truly are delusional. And one big recruiting class for cHoke does not a Schembechler make. They are getting WAAAAAY too carried away with that nonsense. Time will tell and while I think cHoke will be solid, I don't see him being elite.
Love the article Bax!! You kept me entertained the whole article. You can't tell you bleed S&G! LOL! It will be alot of fun watching how tOSU vs MU on the field and the recruiting. We will se how long Hoke stays hc of the "Urine and Blue"!!

Rating the recruiting classes based on size vs star rating is foolish. I know you mentioned the star rating when comparing tOSU to tsun but back to the overall numerical value when comparing the teams in the big ten. I don't know how many scholarships Wisc & Neb have to give, they may have fewer to give out this year. Having a small class with higher rated talent is much better than having a large class with lesser talent. Bax, I'm not trying to blame you for the system in place, just saying that things probably aren't that bad for both Wisc & Neb.
I think we need to get over the jealousy of scUM winning a BCS game and OSU losing the Gator Bowl. I don't care how you count the stats. They Won. A. BCS. Bowl. Period.
I hate scUM as much as the next Buckeye, but let's move on from how 'lucky' they were. Go back and look at OSU's stats in 2002 that we had to defend for 2 years. It's irrelevant. There is only one stat that counts.
You can't handle the truth
Good work boss! Love the spreadsheet!
Hail! Hail! The Gang's All Here!!!
Thanks for your perspective Matt. Love your points about the scUM season.
"Without Ohio, Michigan is Minnesota"
