Great dedication! Shows a lot about this kid. He's a worker, probably wasn't his favorite thing to do but he dedicated himself. I like that!

This is one of the most impressive stories I've read on Bucknuts. It is really uplifting to hear a kid comment on his future and what he needs to do to succeed. His comments show a maturity beyond his years. I wish him the very best while at tOSU and in life.

Very refreshing to hear. It makes up for some of the negative stuff we read about--this is much more fun to read.

Very good news. I just do not understand how a kid crams that intensely, and only receives an 18. He needs a better tutor, or he must have had a terrible education in high school. In my district the average ACT for the entire graduating class is 25, and I am not teaching in a rich area.

Sounds like a great kid! Buckeye nation should be proud to have him.

I'm a native Clevelander that grew up on East 82nd street, and I know the Glenville area well. Unfortunately, it is an area like many in the U.S., where poverty, poor school systems, babies born out of wedlock, etc. contribute to a vicious cycle of blight and unemployment.

That said, God bless Ted Ginn Sr. and his life mission of helping as many kids as possible to go to college and break out of this cycle. His dedication, time, love and support is truly a blessing.

And congratulations young man on working hard towards your dream. That dedication and hard work will always pay off in life. I pray for much success in your life.

Very proud of this young man! I love hearing success stories of hard work paying off. Too often we either make excuses for these young men or even discriminate against them. This is an example of no matter what your background is or where you come from, if you work hard and discipline yourself to achieve you will become successful. Good Stuff!!

Keep your focus on graduating, Devan, and you won't end up like Ray Small. The effort you put into your school work is guaranteed to pay off; the effort you put into football is not.

Devon has learned a "Life's Lesson" which I learned from Woody back in the 60's. "I may not be the smartest person in the room...BUT...NO ONE will OUTWORK ME...EVER....on or off the field"...This includes whatever profession you choose for your life. You will ALWAYS come out a WINNER. CONGRATULATIONS DEVON.
