  • Everyone reacts to test-taking differently. My son's national rankings were in the 99.9% for math and english combined. He didn't study in college and had a stint as an army airborne ranger in Iraq before he finally graduated with a math/commputer degree and a job with a government supercomputer. My daughter's national rankings were low 80% because she freezes taking tests. She compensated with incredible organization and is in Target management. Mr Bogard has the right attitude and I hope he gets The Ohio State degree he covets.

Very good news. I just do not understand how a kid crams that intensely, and only receives an 18. He needs a better tutor, or he must have had a terrible education in high school. In my district the average ACT for the entire graduating class is 25, and I am not teaching in a rich area.

Doesn't have to be a rich area, just has to be effective education for the students. I grew up in a dirt poor area of Ohio and scored in the 99th percentile on my ACT when I took it almost 15 years ago. My teachers cared, and pointed me in the right direction at an early age, and I responded well to the direction that was given to me. There's a lot of different factors, you can't pin it on one or the other.

That is exactly the kind of attitude that will take him anywhere he wants to go in life. I am pumped for him!

I hear you 313, but many of these kids have really good g.p.a.s, and then get a 15 on an ACT. What are they being taught?
