  • For me, it's easily 1971. Led Zepplin, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Janis Joplin, Carole King, Sly and the Family Stone and the Temps will be remembered as long as music is made. I'm also nostalgic for the Chi-lites because they got me laid many, many times.

  • 1971 is absolutely amazing. The two Marvin Gaye songs, the three Led Zeppelin songs are all classics.

    1976 was also great.

I spent much of my college time (1986-90) at the Bier Stube on North High Street (still the greatest bar around). They had the best jukebox in North America when it was all 45 RPM records (replaced now by CDs with a lot of the same stuff on there).

I can dream wistfully of one $2.25 pitcher after another listening to all this stuff. There were more 71 songs on there than 76, so I'm partial to 71. Mind you, I was 3 years old in 1971 and only 8 in 1976.

Just reading the lists of the songs brought back great memories.

I'm going to to go 71, but 76 was also an awesome year.

If I can ask, what made you choose those 2 years? There are others that had great music as well.

We were going back and forth posting music as we often do in the Rant Thread and we started discussing it. 75 was pretty darn good as well... one of us took 76 and another took 71 and we were just hashing it out. We figured since we couldnt change each other's minds and since we were bias we would bring it to the Board for a fresh set of eyes....

Thanks, We do make a great couple!!! The Grateful Dead was a touring band. They simply didn't really care about radio play. Too busy having fun!

Speaking of having fun. Jeff Pehrson's Band (Jeff Pehrson of Furthur) The Fall Risk is going to be performing in San Francisco March 16th. Well I am going to be on the Press List to shoot the Event. I get to bring my real camera gear into a paid event for free. Normally I have to bring my point and shoot to indoor paid events. I am psyched. I am hoping to get some great shots with my Canon EOS 5D Mark II. Could be the start of a career shooting concerts. I shot a free event commemorating Jerry Garcia's Birthday in August and Jeff P liked my photos.

BBucks and I thought they were THE two greatest years for rock music. We brought it to the forum to make the choice..

I'm psyched for you, SF. Man, that is great. I know how you've worked to get to this point, as you've told me. The greatest thing about it is your hard work and devotion is coming to fruition. I'll be looking forward to some excellent photographs. Good luck and peace my brother..
