  • What a great game that was - OSU up by 3 at the hard-fought half, IU turns it around on us and goes up by 4 or so early in the 2nd half, OSU hangs in and chips away to go back-and-forth with ties and lead changes, then OSU does something they've struggled to do all year - they pull away at the end. Tremendous team effort, and outstanding coaching job by Matta and crew. Like last year, this team is coming together at the right time. Go Bucks!!!

  • The Bucks deserved the WIN last night. Defense was great--no letups. Craft & Scott had 4 steals each, which helped us to score transition buckets. If OSU can keep up this kind of play, they'll go a long way in the NCAA Tourney!

  • "Under Thad Matta (since 2004-05), OSU is 11-6 against Indiana. Under Crean (since 2008-09), IU is 2-8 against OSU."

I love that! Matta also doesn't lose to "that team" much either. How fortunate we are to have coaches like Matta and Meyer at OSU!

  • WOW! What a great mother f'ing win!!!!!!!!! Most of us gave the Bucks a small chance to win this game assuming certain things took place. Well, those certain things did happen and we made it happen. Hell.....YES!

I thought coming out of the gates Sam Thompson provided a HUGE spark with his ability to knock down shots. You see that the ability is there....if he would just add the ability to take people to the hole off the dribble and eitehr pull up in the lane or finish he wil be VERY SPECIAL. He will need to be able to do that next year.

Amir....meh. Although he did get two big blocks late in the game which were key.

Kudo's to Ravenal for stepping up as well. Played within himself, rebounded, and got some transition points, follow-up dunks.

Craft and Scott are LETHAL on the court together. I have been harping on seeing them together more all season. They compliment each other so well......they are fun to watch. As i have said before, next year Scott should start at point and Craft at the two guard.

We played the type of game we needed to play to give us a chance to win. Our defense was outstanding and we kept our composure especially after the start that IU had after halftime. We outscored them in transition for the game as well....MASSIVE. I think i saw a stat where it was 14-2 or 16-2 in favor of us (the 2 being Oladipo's dunk in the second half).

All players provided value during the game, even Amir (late). Speical night. Now we need to finish it off and give Illinois some freaking pay back for the debacle earlier in the year.

IU....I hope your senior night was everything you wanted it to be.....suck asses!!!!!

Anybody know if/when this game will be on tv again? Weather took out the DirecTV feed tonight.

I'm sure this will be on BTN within a day or two as a Big Ten Instant Classic.

  • Anyone notice with about 5 minutes left they showed a stat with Thads record with the lead with 5 minutes to go. Something crazy like 225-5 with 96% winning percentage. I know some people have given Thad some shit through the year, but I don't care that is impressive. We all should feel lucky we have 2 great coaches in the big sports.

  • It was a pleasure to watch Craft and Scott play well together and both being offensive threats. I for one questioned if that would ever be possible. Craft is picking his opportunites effectively on offense. Thompson really increasing his aggressiveness on offense versus just swinging it on the perimeter. Also like the small lineup at the end of the 1st half with Thomas and Ross playing the 4 and 5. The speed of that lineup was phenomenal and makes up for the lack of bulk. Want to see this more often, especially against mostly perimeter scoring teams like Wisky. This creates huge match up problems for the other team.

Yes, both Sam Thompson and Shannon Scott need to develop the ability to take it to the hole and SCORE. With their tremendous athletic ability, it seems impossible that they would have not developed this skills in high school. . .but they didn't. Shannon is getting better but he still sort of veers off at the end of his drive and often just throws up a hope and a prayer type shot.
Having said that, both of these players are showing amazing improvement the last several games and are a large factor in our improvement as a team. Amir Williams is also getting better at catching the ball and fighting to get it in the hoop . . .and he made some strong defensive plays last night. Go Bucks!

  • The Aaron Craft (Doubters/Haters) have been aweful silent this last week or so, as if they have never existed. Mouth full of crow must do that to you... Get on board and stay there or never call yourself a Buckeye! Not one Hoosier impressed me last night. And it was great to see coach Clappy with less air-time.

The thing is some of these players HAD the ability in High School but sometimes it just takes patience and confidence. Amir came out of high school with scouts stating he needed major work on the offensive end of the floor.

For example, if i remember correctly wasn't Brandon-Fuss Cheathem an almost 30+ per game scorer in high school? he was a fairly high touted recruit coming out of high school but the dude could not hit the broad side of a barn in college. People flat out did not guard him.

Shannon has showed the ability to knock down open jumpers but he absolutely needs to get better at finishing aroudn the rim. Watching him go up he seems like he is more concerned with getting fould then concentrating on the shot. Craft gets compliments all the tiem when he finished at the rim about how his head is always looking at the rim....

Shannon brings so many valuable attributes to the game.....the finishing around the basket will come.

It will be fun to see how much better he is next year.....Amir, who knows. I foresee him being a career 8pt per game kind of guy that does more to disrupt on the defensive side blocking shots and rebounding. That is about as much as we can probably hope for.

  • I must admit I am shocked as I have been riding this team all year, although I did predict a 12-6 or 13-5 record in conference. Where in the hell has this kind of effort been all year?? Thompson has looked much more comfortable on the offense but still needs to use his leaping talents on the boards. Craft took control of the second half the way you would expect a 3 year leader to do so making some big shots. I'm sure Thomas was overly excited palying in his home state against a rival on senior night with a chance to win and celebate an outright title as he forced some shots and seem to play out of control at times. Ravs needs to play more than softy Williams. He brought some energy and effort last night! Scott was great on D and if he could ever finish around the hoop and not down more than 25% of his outside shots this team could do some damage in the tourny. Smith as usual played another poor game against a good team. It seems he only plays 1 good game out of every 6 or 7. Thaddy actually outcoached Crean. I mean when Yogi takes twice as many shots as Hulls and shoots more than Watford he has nobody to blame.

  • Shannon misses his lay-ups because none of them hit the square.

Would prefer he make them ... but with the way the defense collapses on him it creates offensive putback opportunies for others crashing the boards. Ravenal had 3 dunks off of misses at the front of the rim.

  • Craft and Scott on the court together create matchup issues for the other team when the other team has the ball, the dynamic duo is lights out on defense.

Love the speed at which Scott plays... all out all the time, and at times you see the same with Thompson... man Urban would love to have that speed on his field.

Got to have the fans show up Sunday against Illinois and make the Schott louder than Assembly Hall was last night... can't have any slip ups against Illinois.

  • Wow, I think Matta has proved he is 1 of the top 3 or 4 coaches in the country. Ravnel played the best game of his career (after the chewing he got last game), Scott has been coached up as well as Ross. How anyone can't call Craft a All American just shows how little they know about this game of BB. He controls the tempo of the game at both ends of the floor and what guard has ever played defense game after game as well. As his offense improves, so will his stock in the NBA draft. One other point, I thought Dan Dakish did a very good unbiased job analyzing the game last nite, had to be tough on him. Awesome game guys..........GOBUCKS!
